Refuses to load game, or save bios info

I have tried using daemon-tools 4.03HE, as well as an actual dreamcast gd-rom, and chankast just goes back to the bios screen and prompts me to enter the date, it does not seem to detect my cd-rom drive or daemon-tools...the right options are there under configure drives, but neither works. I have winxp and I have tried using ForceASPI as well.
