Let's play guess the framerate :-)

Please don't bombard us too much yet with questions, the emu is still in early stages. Creds go to myself (of course), Aprentice, Lightning, and Thakis. Feel free to check out #Gekko on Efnet IRC.

It's obvious it's 37. something ,but hey that's in the menus ..ingame could be even 1 fps or even crash .
Anyway,it's great Gc emulation shows some signs of rebirth ..while Pcsx2 kinda pwns all these days :) although they have the toughest task.

I'm guessing 37.63 as well. Very nice progress. Now all we need is a decent Xbox emulator :).

I'm with flowrent on this one. All emulators of current-gen (PS2 and GCN) platforms are fast when displaying a menu. If you have that kind of frame rate when the emulated GPU is being bombarded by in-game geometry, then that's something to write home about.

Martin
August 8th, 2006, 18:59
Noone has claimed it's that fast in game. ;)

LOL!

Is it fully playable or just menu or ingame ?

bcrew1375
August 16th, 2006, 06:47
I'm sure it's just the menu. That's probably why that's the only screenshot. Even so, it's great progress.

this isnt right place to ask questions like that, and there havent been status update so it runs exactly like in current version

FosterjR2K7
September 30th, 2006, 15:49
and how does it run in current version
and where is the right place to ask this question
if not in a Status Update thread

Doomulation
September 30th, 2006, 16:24
The right thing to do is not ask at all. We will know when the developers feel they should share this information with us.

FosterjR2K7
September 30th, 2006, 19:52
fair enough :)

just hopefully it will and they will let us know else my long hopefull wait is pointless

Doomulation

You should not pin your hopes on the emulator. If you really want to play the game, then you should aquire the hardware.

ShizZy

To be entirelly honest, I havn't even tried the game :P

FosterjR2K7

i would much more prefer a decent emulator than a purple box :)

Doomulation
September 30th, 2006, 23:11
There are many different colors. So what's wrong with a GameCube?
Pokémon XD was more of an adventure game rather than a Pokémon Game. You could actually only get a limited number of pokémon. Yet, adventure is it? I found it a little disappointing myself.

The emulator only exists because thre is a box in the first place, support the companies, go and buy smth.

So what? You want a game, you get the console. If you like Zelda, the newest Zelda will be released in December to Gamecube and Wii ONLY. And it isn't even expensive. And the fact remains that it will still take years (probably) to get decent Gamecube emulation.

Systems are indeed nice, as I support the game companies the best I can, and I don't buy even used consuls.

If you buy used consuls the money does not go to the video game industries.

But as far as Nintendo Game Cube goes, I still own the system, and the only game I truly liked with excellent replay value, was Super Smash bros. Melee. This game never got boring to my friends and I.

But I would like to see a good working game cube emulator, as I own a laptop with impressive specs ;) And it would be nice to have Super Smash Brothers melee on the go =D.

So hopefully we will see a good working game cube emulator soon enough, but in the mean time, Doomulation is right. There is no reason on why you can't support the game companies that offer us their material. GO BUY THE CONSUL (sorry for the caps).

i will wait for ps3...

and a decent gamecube emulator :)

The current GameCube emulators are fairly decent. Our computers however, aren't.

FosterjR2K7

my comp is up to date and has no reason why it cant support any game in the world.

Your computer being up-to-date isn't good enough and it will never support every and any game in the world. Your comment reflects exactly the type of ignorance that emulation (and the emulation scene in gereneral) doesn't need.

FosterjR2K7
October 2nd, 2006, 16:44
i wasnt being ignorant but my pc will support any game in the world at this current time :)

now back on topic..

waiting for updates :)

We generally do not like those who use emulators to avoid having to buy a system and/or games. Buy the system! Emulation of the GameCube won't happen to be good for years yet (probably). There is no point in waiting.

So... one poor guy is making a lot of work making one great emulator...
Leave him alone!. XD

BTW : Buy a console!. Of course i prefeer my computer... but always a game
made for a system, will work better in that system.

unless... Gekko developer make a perfect emulator, so we can use our excelent
computer specs (hi res, AA, speed, etc). so the games are beyond the limits of
the original system... of course... this is a dream... but it could be true!.

See ya....
