Paper Mario + Cheat Problem.

I was hoping it wouldn't happen but it did.....

I activated the Max BP (Badge Points) Cheat and then de-activated it (Still having MAX BP afterwards) and if I level up the emulator freezes. But disabling the cheat doesn't fix BP back up so I can't really do much....

Any ideas?

this happened on my old laptop this could be because of speed problems and the games freezes when u reach a level up and how is the star points at 100 it is a max of 99 then goes to 0 if u get a star point

Well I'm up to Yoshi's Town on Lavalava Island and haven't had this problem until I very recently used the Max BP cheat so I'm assuming it is the problem.

I tried the save file under 1964 aswell and the same thing happens.

Sorry for the double post but does anyone have any idea if it's at all possible to modify one of the save files and put my BP back to what it was? I think it was around 18 or so, it might fix the problem.

It freezes when your BP goes over the maximum allowed on level up (127 I think). Modify your cheat and set the value it changes to back to what you had (ie, 18). That should work.

I don't think it has that option, it just lets me tick it or not, both in PJ64 and 1964.

If you know could you explain how I can manually specify the value?

P.S. I don't think I'll ever be using cheats again heh heh (though I normally don't).

Hmm ok I managed ot modify the Max BP code to get me back down to 18.

But afterwards I saw some odd things, for one I jumped on a Red Shy Guy with a Spear and he just died and gave me money in stead of going into battle.... I also no longer recieve any Star Points.....

I used the no star points cheat to stop it from freezing earlier but it's no longer active.

I find it pretty fair to cheat with BP, though. Because Paper Mario only allows 30 BP which IMO is far too low. This was fixed in Paper Mario 2, though.

Looks like I have it all working now. Is 30 really the limit? Dang guess I'll have to use the cheat when I get to that point, I'm not far off it.

Just finished the Lavalava Island part and about to fight the really huge squid guy to open up the short cut pipe for Yoshi's Town.
