What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

Check out my SUPER MARIO textures. :)

Some of it is just messing around, but I want to kinda go with an ancient egyptian theme, on the Castle, inside it and on the outside of it, but not in the other levels, I think I'll do other stuff in them instead of having an egyptian theme. I also want to retexture some enemys including bosses and Bowser. I might also retexture the skys later, did anyone do this already or is doing it now?

Yeah, right now I'm kinda wanting to have fun with the enemys instead of finishing up the little bit I have left on the castle. I should just finish it up already, I think I will after maybe doing another enemy, better this time though, than the pokey, hopefully anyways.

Oh, give me some ideas if you want and if I think it sounds cool too then I'll probably do it.

*lol* The bat wings are very cool.
But I think it's a bit too much. Even the old agyptians had some normal floors and walls ;)

I re-did the skybox of the castle (at least most of the sky w/o the sea)
It's kind of a puzzle, very annoying work.

Thats what i consider as the best method:
Put all skybox images in one folder
Import the folder in image ready(so you get the filenames as layer names)
Jump to Photoshop and make a big canvas
Spread the pieces over the canvas and do the puzzle work
Do your overpaint
Make a selection of the pieces, cut them out of your overpaint and paste it into a new document.
Copy the layer name of the piece you used
Save the new document under this name.
Empty the new document and repeat the last three steps until you're finished

...as i said: very annoying work!

Oh c'mon now, didn't you know Sonic was one of the greatest pharaohs?
I know, I don't have him as the trees now, I was just messing around, as I still am.

I also know that it's a bit too much. lol The egyptians had pretty much normal rock floors, didn't have carpet or doors, or stair railings and fences. So I can't really do it ancient egyptian properly. I might just have to make it look like peach is a fan of ancient egypt and has her castle decorated like that. Or I might just change it to where the floors are pretty much normal rock, and just do the best I can to make it look actual ancient egyptian. I'll probably do both, because I want one that is anceint looking and then one that also has everything in it looking sexy and highly decorative.

Yeah, I do realize it's way too decorative though for ancient egypt, especially the floors. I'm going to try out a lot of stuff to see how it looks.

Thanks for the tip Mode 7, I'm very new to using photoshop and The Gimp, just started like 4 days ago. I know more about GIMP right now. I know how the skys will be annoying, the one I mapped out has like 51 textures. I think it had 1 more that was possible to see, but very hard, I didn't figure out which texture it was, I didn't try that long though.

BTW: the wadfather had a few sets of nice egyptian textures (also normal floors and such stuff). I think they are public domain if it's non commerical and you give the author credit (correct me if I'm wrong). Of course it's kinda cheap to use ripped of textures ;)

@Skybox: Be sure to watch the intro when dumping the skybox. When I did it I missed to pieces of sky because of that and now I have to do these seperately.

Thanks alot Mode 7, there is some awesome textures on there, all ready tileable and everything, this will make things very easy. I haven't looked at that many yet, but I'm definitely going to try a lot of them out. Now I can do the enemys sooner and more versions of them etc. There's a few things that I'm pretty sure I'm keeping because it looks really good and I spent a little time on it, but a lot of it I'll change, especially the floors.

Thanks again bro.
