I thought there was already an emulator called HU6280 and it was open-source and everything (and already version 1.89 or so)? Is this the same thing or even slightly related? http://www.hu6280.com/ isnt online anymore though.

Yeah this is the port for the GP2X handheld ..

The original is for DOS I believe if I remember correctly
