Hi guys, I have been into emulation for a while, I’m an alright programmer, the only thing I don’t understand is how do you start, do I decompile a ROM then look at the calls that it makes to the console hardware? Or is there an easier way?
I was thinking of making an SNES emulator that ports ROMs into x86 code, there for they would be stand alone programs and not need an emulator.
Be sure to read this. The best documents I have ever seen so far.

Another great site to check out for emulation programming is Emubook (http://www.pj64.net/emubook) by PJ64 author Zilmar. And of course, another great place is this exact forum as many authors regulary visit it. :)
