Easy. To get rid of the black screen you just load the rom and hit start. Thanks for posting.

Do all the other games work fine? (start up normally and go into the game)

Yes, i have played like 5 other roms.. they all run fine it just seems to be this one.. event eh first zelda works fine.
I don't know what to do

Strange... have you verified the rom to be a good dump? Also, have you modified the settings in any way?

I am pretty sure the rom is good..because it works fine on my friends.. is there anyways to test the rom.
also, i have made a few changes.. but i uninstalled and reinstalled.
and it still does the same thing.. it really doesn't make any sense at all to me.. why the first zelda would work perfect.. but not this one

Go to http://www.smiff.clara.net/utils/rom.htm and download the utilities to rename/verify roms (GoodN64 and GoodWindows) As long as the new name comes out with a [!] the rom is good... I'm still thinking as to why this is happening...
Does File / Start Emulation do anything? (after you load the rom)

Haven't tried that.. i will once i get home.. and i will verify that the rom is working.. i will get back to you
thanks for your help

tell more about the settings, wich plugins do you use, start with all 3orginal plugins, the work best for me.
How are your graphics plugin settings, like frame buffer emulation?
I use emulate clear.
anisotrpic filtering off.
stuff like that!

I found a few new things out
i tried conkers bad fur day, and it does the same thing.. it loads the rom but the screen is just black.. maybe its because they are 256m???
any ideas?

Hmm this seems to happen to some people with radeon cards. It's prolly a driver problem, The Gentleman had problems with his radeon 8500 as well in the beginning, but he got some beta drivers and it worked out fine.

I got them to work by using the following
for conker i chose Jacob's Direct 3D6 conker works perfectly with this plugin
however with zelda, i got it to work.. kinda
I have to use the RCP's Direct3d v.06
when i load the rom using that codec it says to "config your Ucode" i then have to go to Options >> Config Display and pick number 5 Ex. Zelda. then it will get to the title screen.. but every once in a while that "config your Ucode" pops up and i have to select number 5 again..
any ideas on how to stop this ucode from poping up after i already select number 5.

Ok, now all of a sudden i can't get conker to load with out a "not enough memory to load rom" when trying to play it.. and now majoras mask works with the plughin it wouldn't before..

Erm... That's "Jabo" not "Jacob" ... :D
Please post your full systems specs (including O/S) It seems it might be a problems with the graphics card somewhere... Updating the drivers usually takes care of problems.

I did a dual boot.. so all i need to do is find my video card drivers and i am going to try to run pg64 again.. see what happens.
will let you know
[SiC]
March 16th, 2002, 04:18
Well, i can't install winme.. cause they don't support my mobility radeon
anyways i found out that it isn't just conekr and zelda, its others as well, like the big ones..
but i know i can fix it somehow.. because both zelda and conker have loaded up just fine before..
damnit, this really sucks.. :(
I personally think its the video plugin i am using.. but i don't know what to change or anything in that plugin.

You to Ne... I mean Epic64 ;)
Btw if the roms worked before they may have gotten corrupted by a crash or something recently. U really should rename them using goodn64 and tell us what the names are after that.
