No, it's not normal that pj64 freezes your pc. It's propably a DirectX or driver problem or your OS is f*cked up.

Some details

First of all, you should give some info about your configuration, or it is hard to find a solution.
Then, I know a friend of mine that has got the same problem, but, trying turning off the audio plugin (using "no audio"), it go on without any problem for a while.
It could be a problem with on-board audio adapters. If it is so, buy a SBLive! ???

Well, I think also the sound plugin USES directx. However, on the PC I have found this problem, I changed several plugins(also from other emulators), but the problem persisted. So I think you could try to try it without sound plugins, just to be SURE it is a Graphic error.

BTW: specs means your system configuration
BTW2: then you should in any case get a SBLive! ;)
BTW3:Well, actually, I haven't got a SBLive, but a simple (VERY simple) SB16  , so even if you don't buy it, I guess it is not a problem. :)
