Well, not really a new emulator, but there is work going on to add N64 to MAME/MESS. This is fully low level emulation, no HLE whatsoever, and software graphics rendering.

Yup, saw the news recently. Don't usually follow MESS development, but I know there's great potential there.

Full software... huh? I sure am interested in this development. Now why isn't this on the news page yet? This is major news imo. Not groundbreaking, but major news.

Interesting

a complete LLE emulator would be something extremely interesting to understand what is still unknown about the N64. i think it would help a a lot for HLE development.

I am much more interested in non-2D results. THIS will be the defining feature.

Well, technically since N64 has no real 2D hardware, the current screens are 3D internally. Each letter in the MKT story is 2 triangles.

Can somebody tell me what the difference between LLE and HLE is? I'm interested about this.
