Just curious: Why do you want to disable the background(s)?

AFAIK, you can't disable backgrounds in Project64 (although feel free to prove me wrong) as the Nintendo64 doesn't have distinct graphics layers like 16-bit consoles had, nor is there are options to disable such layers even if it would have them.
