Smash Brothers problem

Hi, I was trying to back up one of my favorite N64 games SSB and I got this messege....

what does it mean? anyone know how to fix this?

HHm, did you tried to check the rom with GoodN64?
It really seems to be a bad rom, because I never had this problem!
Did the message pop up at the beginning or after you are doing a special thing?

It looks like there´s a bad version of this rom going on, try another one.

oh ok thanks I can play it now, but there is a lot of lag in the first battle and most of the time it crashes, anyone knows how to fix that?
