Hello everyone, Im new to emulators as you can see, but let me get straight to the problem.

I downloaded PJ64 Version 1.6. I downloaded goodN64, goodwindows, and the bin. I followed a tutorial on how to use goodwindows, and renamed and verified ( i think ) the ROM i downloaded ( Banjo- Kazooie (U) [!] ,rar )
I try to open PJ64, then go to open ROm, but it does not show up in its folder as a rom file. Then when i select it from using show all files, it says blah blah, doesnt seem to be a N64 rom, please verify with goodn64.
Please help me, i tried to search high and low to fix my problem! :bye3:

If it's a rar compressed archive (which you seem to indicate) you need to extract it. PJ64 doesn't support rar.

its is a Rar you mentioned above .rar
Project64 does not allow for .rar

you can Extract the Rar by going to http://www.win-rar.com/ and downloading and installing, then extracting that .rar archive

Edit: or yea as smiff said use a freeware like 7Zip (www.7zip.com) and associate with .rar

therre are also lots of freeware archivers with rar support:

7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/)
TUGzip (http://www.tugzip.com/index.html)

are two i recommend.

Is this in the FAQ? if not i'll add.

Do you have Winrar installed? If not, that will be the reason the icon is showing as that.

while processing graphics data, an exception occured. You may have to restart the emulator. Thats the access violation message it gives me
