Even so, when donating with paypal, don't you enter the US amount to send? In that case, it will converted to your local currency and deducted automatically.

thank you :)

Squall,
when you pay through paypal, the currency exchange is done automatically. Just enter the correct amount of US dollars and that's what you will donate.

Good to see someone else donating. You don't need to really do anything after you've donated, though. You can just stand aside and watch and take part in a few discussions, if you want.

wheres the point of that?. the only way to make a program better is by reporting problems and bugs. :P

I think hey you pikachu microphone emulation would be awesome!
I also think hat 1.7 beta should be open when beta 2 comes out for donators .
Doomulation
November 8th, 2006, 19:44
First, Pj beta IS open. You just donate $20 for access. Is that too much to ask?
Second, there is no beta 1, beta 2. We get beta builds all the time. For donators, of course.

November 10th, 2006, 04:06
You've just scored yourselves another donator. :) As soon as I apply for and recieve a debit card (which will be in the next 2 weeks, possibly even earlier), you will get $20, and possibly more..(if I have any spare change).
I love what you guys are doing in the project so far, hopefully by my future donations, it will you help you guys out. I'm honestly not that interested in the beta, but it would be nice to give back to the community thats doing a great job of what its currenty doing.

Hey Doomulation.
Could you make an educated guess when 1.7 will be released please? The only reason I ask is K-Man won't continue doing work on Ocarina until the new Project 64 is released, not a beta.
I'm sorry if that question gets on your nerves in some way.

I figured that would be the response. Can I ask two more questions though? People have been donating for about a year now...how much money have you accumulated and how much more do you need? I'm not saying I would never donate, but I'm just curious about a few things before I do.
Oh and a question for axcc123, are you even part of the development team?

axcc123 is not part of the pj64 team. With all the people who donated, who I am thankful to, I would have gotten maybe about the value of 3 weeks worth of pay.
Considering I started this project over 8 years ago, it is not much.

OK, just for everyone who keeps on bugging everyone for the release date, here's a little something for ya:
Donations are a way for any user to support the PJ64 team while we work on the next version. As an extra thank you to our supporters - and to allow participation - if you donate $20USD or more you will gain access to past, current and future beta (work in progress) builds between v1.6 and the next public release ("v1.7 final", not expected before 2008). You only need donate once for an account - it's not a subscription!
You can see it from here:
Project64 (http://www.pj64.net/main/donations.html)
======================================== ==========
OK, now I have a little question. For the developers of PJ64: $20 isn't exactly very much. But after 5 people that's already $100. You must be making a lot of money off of this. I think you should release PJ64 by around the time people are done buying.
squall_leonhart
November 22nd, 2006, 04:38
its not that simple, Zilmar is the master mind behind the core and he doesn't have enough time to work on it as much as is needed, so it'll take as long as it takes

Perhaps an option to customize the interface of Project64? Like, hide/show particular menu options? The reason I suggest this is because of that annoying Full Screen option under the Options menu. Almost every time I'm trying to test an N64 game, figuring out how to get it working best, configure Graphics Plugin...I accidentally hit the goddamn full screen option instead. Of course, if I were more cautious, this wouldn't be such a problem, and I do like full screen mode, but not while I'm testing games out. I once had to set my PC to Stand By mode and then log back in just because of what full screen mode did to my PC once when I used glN64.
Wait a minute...how can I accidentally hit "Full Screen" if the "Always on Top" option is between "Full Screen" and "Configure Graphics Plugin?" Is there some sort of bug I caught, here? Or is my aiming extremely off?

Not really sure. I never ran into that problem before with PJ64 1.6..

Infact, It was weird, I filled out the Forgot Password form, got a Regenerated Password from pj64.net and submitted it, It Successfully logged me in (as in, I did not get a wrong username / password error) however, I got a a message saying "Your Login is Blocked, Please contact the administrator" I never did innitiially recieve an e-mail from pj64.net, so i'm not sure how I have a username/password that worked.
However, I paid the $20 to support the team, a hearty contribution from an eager fellow gamer.
I want to be a beta-tester!

Ok, I have had to go through all of the hassles of registering just to report something that I think you may be interested to know, I would have sent this via e-mail if I could find a e-mail address to send it to.
Somebody has posted the 1.7 Beta of Project64 on weknowaboutitalreadypleasedon'tpostlinks toit.com, when its downloaded it says that it is registered to a 'Leroy Jenkins'
Heres a copy of the torrent file from the site if that is of any use: -
'removed by mod'

Sorry but, I have just reviewed the posts that other people have posted on this subject and about that the emulator is not meant to work due to the anti-piracy measures? What anti-piracy measures? I only found out that about the message saying that the beta is for members only on this forum. I downloaded the leaked beta and it worked first time without any errors/nags what soever. Is this cracked or has somebody figured out how the protection works: -
The file date of the executable is Oct 17 2006
Files included in the package: -
Project64_1_7_0_45.exe
zlib1.dll
_trash.tmp
Project64.rdb
p64_17045-lj.nfo
Project64.cache3
Settings.ini
Sys Log.txt
Doomulation
January 16th, 2007, 16:41
Either of the two. It is certainly protected by anti-leak measures.
squall_leonhart
January 17th, 2007, 21:07
luckily the main part that matters (the core) has not been included in the package....
DoctorJ1976
January 18th, 2007, 11:10
If you mean the the 'Jabo_Direct3D8.dll' from the plug in folder, it was included, I just forgot to list it but the text file said to copy the sound, controller and rsp plug ins from the 1.6 release. The only game that I have tested the 1.7 version on is Starwars Rogue Squadron but even though it did run, there still seemed to be graphics problems (jumpy graphics, etc), I was more interesting at just having a look at the options dialogues to see what new options had been added rather than actually using it to play games (I will wait for the official release to do that)
squall_leonhart
January 18th, 2007, 14:21
no, i do not, i already know about what is in the contents of the package as i have already downloaded it and inspected it about 2 months ago, when i spotted it on a certain site, i was talking to Zilmar about it being on certain sites which were unaccessible to most people, when i decided to run a google search,... unfortunately it turned up on a well known site and upon downloading i discovered it was the cracked and leaked build, which i reported to Zilmar,
i took a fair look at the emulator, making note of what is missing, and will indeed urge people not to download it, as i have since removed it myself, the download does not include the 1.7 core, which is the heart of project64, and also that there is a great number of bugs, and crash issues, i also noticed that a few were in regards to source files.. which i hope are fixed in the final.
i also took rogue squadron for a spin and got better results with it then you, even though the core is not in the package, it can still run on the 1.6 core, once you tweak it a fair bit.
anyway, as i said, i removed it, and i urge people not to even bother with the leak if they do manage to come across it as this build does not represennt a finished stable product, and is not supported anywhere. Any Data Loss is not the responsibility of the PJ64 team as this is not an official release, if it destroys your computer, its your own fault for using it.

January 20th, 2007, 05:50
anti-piracy(or leak) measures? are you kidding me? is that a joke? are they that desperate for peoples money that they'll put "anti-piracy measures" into an incomplete piece of beta software, which at this rate wont be done till.... never?
*awaits the inevitable fanboy flames, or mod censorship*
Doomulation
January 20th, 2007, 12:51
No, they put it in the software so that assholes won't leak the beta. It's something they're working hard on and they want only the ones who donate (or show that they care for Pj's future) gets it. It's a sort of a thank you and if people go around handing it out to other people who just want it because they're greedy, then...
Put yourself in Zilmar & Jabo's shoes and imagine yourself the scenario when someone would leak or steal your software without your permission.

January 20th, 2007, 21:27
hey just a question about 1.7
I saw somewhere on the forum a screenshot of the widescreen feature a while ago (showing OoT), and I was just wondering if its possible to incorporate moving the HUD to the edges of the screen? I know the Wii does it for its games and I fiqure it should be possible to work something to move the HUDs of n64 games in project64 for the widescreen feature. that would be sweeet.
squall_leonhart
January 23rd, 2007, 09:57
gsboi, Wii games are designed to do that, where as N64 games, are not.
gsboi15
January 23rd, 2007, 14:39
i realize that...I was just saying that since the hud is put on top of the 3d graphics that a fix could be made to move the pieces around...

It may be a long way off but will there be something special organized for Pj1.7 on it's release date?
Somebody mentioned t-shirts and that got me thinking (more like day dreaming really) how cool would it be if there were official Pj64 merchandise given away as prizes such as mouse pads, cd wallets, etc. that could be purchased later which would no doubt help support the Pj64 team tweak 1.7 to perfection and for a future re-build if necessary.
And totally off the wall, if Pj64 (and emulation in general) ever took off and became mainstream how awesome would it be to have a Emu-Talk Convention similiar say to the Tokyo Game Show but on a much smaller scale.
Of course, organizing an event like this would be down right logistically and financially impossible but imagine everyone walking around wearing avatar badges and carrying Pj64 showbags! :D
