is there a way to use an ISO file instead of "dol elf or gcm"?

A .gcm is a native Gamecube ISO. They are one and the same, so weirdly enough, the answer to your question is yes and no.:P

yeah, rename the iso file to .gcm
im actually not sure if WhineCube checks if its a ".gcm" (then you wouldnt have any problems loading a .iso)...never actually bothered looking lol
