Graphics error plugins problem

when i open project 64 it says configure your plugins, so well it automatically takes me there i hit ok but when i do this pops up "direct3d failed to inzitalzied your HAL device make sure you have a properly configured graphics" so i used jabo (or jado cant remember) and i go to open the rom and it says configure the graphics plugin any suggestions?

Try setting your color quality to 16 bit insted of 32 bit. Rightclick desktop-properties-settings(tab)-color quality.

This may be your problem: check if you downloaded the newest version, v1.6.
Download it at http://www.pj64.net/iedefault.htm
Go into Project64.exe and click options then make sure you configure everything there.
