I'm new to these forums, HI to all and all that crap. Anyway, here's my problem with Chankast:
Everytime I start a game (ANY game) it emulates nicely on the main menus, until I start actually playing that is. Please help.

My computer is/has:
Celeron 2.80ghz
Windows XP
Video Card: VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP (I have suspicions that it's this video card that's making the computer crash everytime, some games aren't compatible with it like Star Wards KOTOR 2 and Hitman 2)
Sound Card: Realtek AC'97 (even though that it works with everything)

Everytime I select NEW GAME or something like that, it starts the first in-game movie and plays it for a few seconds and computer freezes, then reboots. If I skip the movie, the computer freezes and then reboots. If an FMV plays, it will not crash but will play smoothly except for the glicthy sound (which I don't care for much). So you see, I can't even start playing. Any suggestions to fixing this awful problem, please advise me!

Your video card is the bottleneck (support til zoom close and then crash), get a new video card, a Geforce 4 should work.

mmh a GeForce 4... mmh.. I'll check out the prices..
Btw, do you think an ATI Rage Pro would be sufficient? It's a 64mb video card, it's from my older computer and it's fairly good.

NO, it's too old, mostly like a relic!!!!!!! Only Geforce 4 will solve your problem.

If you want good graphics, I don't think GF4 MX is a good idea. *IT DOESN'T HAVE PIXEL SHADERS*.But is a good card though. I don't know if it happens others GF4 models..

/me getting tired of my GF4 MX

Yep, archaic video hardware is the cause. Dreamcast emulation really needs a decent Radeon/GeForce to show decent video without crashes. An FX 5200 for $40 would be my suggested minimum.

Not a cure for cancer but it's usefull for the fireworks you're trying to play with. :P
