Graphics error

When i turn on Project64 1.6 i get a graphics error which says:

"Direct3D failed to initialize
Error code: 8876086A
D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE"

Then when i click "OK" it gives me another error which says:

"The default or selected video plugin is missing or invalid.

Check that you have at least one compatible plugin file in your plugin folder."

Then when i click OK it opens the "settings" to the "plugins" tab and
under "Video (graphics) plugin:", Jabo's Direct3D8 1.6 is highlighted
in blue.
Then when i click "OK" "Project64 Version 1.6" opens but when i try to
open a rom it give me an error which says:

"Cannot open a rom because plugins have not successfully initialised"

It's something to do with your graphics card drivers, click on search and type in the problem, 'cos I've seen this before

What exactly should i type in the search, "D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE" if so it didn't work and am i supposed to search using windows help?

Did you install DirectX? The "Direct3D failed to initialize" problem was quite common in the last version of Project64 1.5, but I haven't seen it with the new one. The search you should be using is on this forum.
