I think he wants to know how to export the textures out of the game. Camber, there are several threads related to this topic!

Yes in English please, and it's all in the readme too.

I'll stick up for Camber as he has attempted to write it in English. So all of you who are attacking him for the less than perfect way in which he has written it, please lay off.
A less than 100% perfect English post is infinitely preferable to those who ignore the sites rules and write in other languages.
You need to go into the advance options of Rices plugin and select: Dump textures to files (or something like that).
The textures will be dumped in a sub folder of the plugins section. Check the readme included with the plugin for more detailed help.

i agree ppl just wait for the perfect chance to flame

Yeah, and people also wait for the perfect time to defend the non-english speaker (like, for instance, after a moderater has jumped in?) Still, I'm not sure why I'm being villified, really, if someone else had posted this in understandable english, would you really have felt like helping this person out?
If he can understand english (which he seems to), did he really need to make his own thread about it, rather than read the textfile that comes included with the video plugin? A point that some people miss sometimes is that there are in fact people who make threads like this without reading help files etc. in foreign countries as well.

Yes, he should have read the readme.
Yes people were correct to point out this fact.
You were wrong in merely attacking the poster for having a less than perfect command of the English language (considered spam amongst other things). I respect people 100% more for making the effort to adhere to the forum rules, than those who post in other languages because they think they are exempt from them.
And yeah I probably would have helped out someone using perfect English by explaining to them to read the included readme file. I'd probably also give them a slap :P

People must halt fireing person with wrong English. It bad toture it. :icecream:
Anyways, it seems like the person just used an online translator to send us this message.... So, IMO this person wasnt able to read the rules...

Why does this thread exist anymore?

May 14th, 2005, 09:09
No flames ever took place (unless they were removed). People read the original post, and it didn't make any sense at all. I didn't understand what camber was trying to say until I was reading through the thread the second time.

Yes good idea. I could write the German translation.

Anyone who can read English to an acceptable degree could easily decypher the meaning in this post without having to be arsey about it and sarcastically ask for it to be in English.
Perhaps that was the absoloute limit of what this person could achieve with the language. Does that mean we should offer no help?
Yes he should have read the readme.
Yes the flames were not of a massive level, but they did exist.
As for him using an online translator, I have said before I prefer that to the eijits who attempt to ride roughshod over the rules and just ignore them. Non online translations are infinitely preferable however.

It's true, this thread has dragged on a bit and has mostly deviated from its original purpose, so I'm gonna stop after this one...
But I still disagree with everyone in this thread who's said anything about flaming or bitching. I realize that people are generally offended by sarcasm coming from strangers over the internet, but the word 'flame' is thrown around far too much. It's not like I was really trying to hurt his feelings or make him feel bad about his english skills, but I really could not understand his message at all. I was trying to get him to clarify his question, and I certainly would have helped him if he had (or even if his post made sense in the first place). I guess you guys are just too good at deciphering broken english. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I'll never be sarcastic again.
(not really lol)

i think its good that ppl do this in one thread rather than loadsa threads like in most forums...i think that ppl should listen to the mod for 1...and for 2 keep your attitude for chatrooms..and waste a post on being helpful.
Toast Siege
May 14th, 2005, 21:11
Haha, well, it looks like I've already made an enemy here. And why exactly are you a model poster? Because you back up the moderaters when they so desparately need your help? Because you keep your 'attitude' for the chatrooms? Because you never waste posts and are always helpful? I really don't need to go on, but, you're one hell of a hypocrite, sir.
Take your own advice.
By the way,

hahaha. Sentances do kind of kick ass. In fact, they make communication easier. The english language, like other languages, has an orginizational structure for the specific purpose of clarity when communicating (otherwise, communication would not take place, just confusion). I'm no grammernazi, but I must say... the forum rules say english. Not pseudo-english-ish-type AZN txt lol omg roflmao, kk? No offense, just a friendly reminder that some of us cringe and want to tear our eyes out when you drag a language through the mud.

Arrogance is the fundamental problem. Sure maybe he should have done those things, but if he was aware he should have done those things, then he wouldn't have posted. Obviously, this would lead us to believe he's not aware. Now, this would give a chance to tell him to do those things. Instead of ignorantly and deliberately not helping at all, you could simply point him to a more suitable thread and tell him to read the readme that comes with the plugin. Some attitudes really need to change around here.

^^^ Thanks for not letting this two-week old thread die so you could tell us "some attitudes really need to change around here." We all appreciate it, Captain Forum Police. There was no problem until you showed up, but thanks for trying.
Before I respond to your statement, I just need to ask one question: Have you ever used an online forum before? Honestly though, these places have different rules from real life, and in most places, effort is made to keep spam to a minimum. I already know this isn't heavily enforced around these parts, but the first post was clearly spam. Posting to ask a question that could have been answered had this person read a certain text file? Spam. Posting in a combination of almost indecipherable english and nonsense? Some might say spam, since he or she did not read the rules.
I've already (again, past-tense) taken note of the fact that sarcasm is difficult to interpret over the internet, but everyone is making this a bigger deal than what the thread was intended for.
Next time you want to bring an issue like this up, do it when it's relevant, please. What you said was basically a rehash of what's already been covered more than once. Also, I know that it's far too late for you (or anyone else) to help the original poster, but it really seems like people are only getting involved with this thread because it's not a help thread any more. Lots of people have shown outcry, (You are unhelpful/You are ignorant/You are arrogant, ad nauseum) you're right, there is a lot of all of those things in this thread, but I wouldn't say most of it's coming from me.
EDIT: VVV Huh? You haven't even read the entire thread, have you? Let alone the first post...

So wait... someone posted a question in this thread? I thought this was the thread that ressurects itself for a random flame/spam every few nights, like a mix of jesus, groundhog day... This horse is dead, but everyone feels the need to flog it every once in a while. I don't see it being all that fun, but after a few drinks, maybe it gains more allure.
