Racing Games!

I love Racing Games. I have a bunch on my PC. I prefer the ones that have great tracks or cool effects, like jumping through things or busting up and damaging other cars, buildings, etc.


I read through lots of reviews of N64 games and I've seen all sorts of screenshots. I even played a bunch of them on my friends N64 system, as well as in various Emus.

So here is my question - Which are your most favorite N64 racing games, taking into mind how fluid the game runs and in what Emu you are running it in.

For example -

I like Ridge Racer in PJ64 (Jabo's plugins).

California Speed
Extreme-G
F-Zero X
Hydro Thunder
San Francisco Rush 2049

That depends more on your system specs..

I can run almost any game at 60 fps or more on this comp

on my mom's p3 600 i get about 40-50.. or worse

N64 had quite a few good racing games in my opinion:

mario kart 64
ridge racer 64
destruction derby
california speed
rush 2049
mickey's speedway
excitebike
fzero
extreme g
aerogauge
beetle adventure racing
diddy kong racing
star wars episode 1
wave race 64
world driver championship

phew...!

Automobili Lamborghini

Sad I know but it was one of the first I played on UltraHLE so I still have a soft spot for it.

my fav n64 racing game is Aero Gauge well its the one i test the most

Auto Lamboghini is weird... i think I dont mind it for the same reason as Epic, its one of the 1st I played

ridge racer 64... this should've been a poll...

oh yeah, and i like carmageddon, just because you get to run over people.

in other news... anyone play simpson's road rage yet on xbox? VERY cool game, update of crazy taxi.

speaking of which... there never was crazy taxi for n64 was there?

no, when crazy taxi first came out on the arcades, sega was still developing only for dreamcast (sega never made any games for n64, period).

IMHO, ridge racer 64 is the best serious(ie not kart...like DKR) racer for n64.

The SF Rush Series are the best, as well as Hydro Thunder and The Crusin Series

Here's my favorites:

1. Ridge Racer
2. Mario Kart
3. Aerogauge
4. Fzero X
5. Hydro Thunder
6. SF Rush (Just because of the stupid car movement, the explosions and the stupid music that makes me laugh)

But then there are of course much other racing games I like.
