HI guys,
I have one request for this new PJ1.6 version: Can somebody offer me a binary download or a self-extracting but not a windows installer version? I'm currently using the computer of my brother without admin rights and a windows installation will be blocked by the OS without admin rights - while I can download PJ 1.5 and run it (it's just self-extration) with no problem! I would really apprecitate it.. thanks very much for a quick response (cause I can't wait to try this cute thing out!!)
thanx in advance

I know how you feel. Installers are nothing but trouble... I've always hated 'em.

If i was you i would ask your bro to install it for you.
The whole idea behind the installer was that many users had asked for it over the years and instead of using unreg files and then deleting the folder after, the installer comes with an uninstaller that removes all.

so..now I've got about 2more hours before I'll be leaving ... my bro is on holidays and his computer is used by our whole family... so he made an admin account so nothing seriously goes wrong on the OS.. but the downside is that i can't run PJ1.6... so for god's sake...just mail me your PJ1.6 folder or zip it and mail... i thought this was a simple request :-(

well it int that simple i dont think your bro will apriciate you installing something that he then cant uninstall without having to use windows Reg Editor if he is even comfy using it at all.
I say wait til you have more time 1.6 will not be going anywhere and its better to ask the computer owners permission before installing anything.

oh well, must be off... a shame,really... have to try it on my laptop then.. gosh, I really appreciate future releases without windows installation at all... it's not really that the "uninstall" does a clean job for the registry anyway - and for a program like a N64 emu there's absolutely no windows installation required- and a zip file is much more handy incase you have many emulators
anyway, thx for whatever

OK lets start this off.
1) Only official releases of Project64 1.6 are supported here and the installer was decided to be the official release.
2) The installer was chosen because of what Gent said. It is there to allow for a smoother uninstall.
3) Just how do you know the uninstaller isnt doing a clean job if you havent even installed it yet?
4) The problem you are having is lack of communication between your brother and yourself. If he does not trust you with the administrator password it is out of our hand. We're sorry but we are not your family counselors.
5) No program actually requires an installer. Seriously. The installer is just there for ease of installation and uninstallation.
Personal Note or 6) Your attitude seems to be a bit on the demanding side and it seems you didnt read the rules (like most users no doubt). This qualifies as a feature request. Yes, we've been really relaxed with the rules since positive criticism is always welcome but begging isnt going to get you anywhere.
