Hiya
On Ridge Racer 64 (U) [!], I get a crash when I either choose the 2nd rival car in car attack, or I try to use that certain car when the all cars cheat is on, any ideas? (I checked Smiffs page and I dont think its a known issue, could it be my graphics card?) :hrm: ???

The Gentle and I tested the codes for Ridge Racer 64 (U), they are flawless for Windows 2000 & XP. So that is one possibility ruled out.

Its NOT the cheats, its when I'm not using the cheats also, its the second "car challenge thingy" to the left

Hi Ganonboy.

Lets see if i can grasp what you are saying here. :)

Are you saying, that if you try to choose the 2nd rival car in car attack,
Which is the "RT Blue MAPPY"
That is when it crashes for you.

Well, Ganonboy,
obiously it's a bad rom. U know what that is?
Check it with goodn64. Information on how to use it/where to get it can be found at smiff's site.

It is a good ROM because I got it off a site which only has Good roms!

Dosen't matter. It could of got messed up in the transfer or if you crashed.

BUT, if it shows up in the ROM browser then it's good.

not necessarily. a bad rom could hav a good CRC. the rom browser only looks at the CRC. (someone correct me if im wrong)

Well just incase, I won't go around saying/thinking that then ;)

Does anyone know what it is that Good64 does to check the ROM?

Smiff

the browser DOES NOT VERIFY ROMs, this is explained in the manual.

Well, um...
Since it takes so hell-lot-of-time to complete any action, I'd say that it does more than just check the CRC.
Something more. Maybe it scans the whole file? That would explain it.

I might just have the answer u are looking for Ganonboy.

I too had a similar problem with the car attack mode, the solution was to change my audio plugin. I was using Jabo's directsound 1.4, by switching to zilmar audio plugin the game worked fine.

Hope this helps

Yes, I got the same problem too. Did you use PJ64 v1.4 to run the game? There are many Bugs on PJ64 v1.4?

I've tested the game on PJ64 v1.3, it worked. Please use PJ64 version 1.3, it should work.

how can I attach my save file? Your attachment only allow JPG, Bmp files to be attached?

Smiff, I sent the save files to your e-mail already, please find it....

We have done all tests, on 98SE,2000 & XP , With PIII & Athlon Based Systems (Thats what we Do)
& yes, they are very Secure cheats.
All worked fine, The Screen shots are there to see.

We have no probs with this Game, with or without cheats.

Maybe, the only way is to put the plugin files from PJ64 v1.3 to v1.4? Actually, I've tried it before. I used Super Robot Taisen 64 rom to test it, but it didn't work. Whatever plugin I changed, the Super Robot Taisen 64 rom still not work.

It showed "PI_not memory not found" (something like that...). so, I don't want to try it anymore. Just download the PJ64 1.3 and extract it to a new folder and put my save files and R.Racer64 rom on v1.3.

It worked.
