I am trying to make a texture pack for Mario 64, but this will in no way compete with cloudscapes pack at all. I know his is a lot better then mine, but I just tried to keep a cartoony look to the game and wondered what you guys thought . If there is enough demand for this I may get motivated enough to work on it some more and make a public release.

Sorry, but I don't really like it. It looks like you've just reduced the colours and used the HQ4X filter on it...

sadly, I agree.

I have to agree as well, if you were to go and make your own more cartoony textures, I would be all for it though.

i agree with others
it may look less pixelated but
try to insert somekind of detail in the textures or look for real textures which you can paste in

You could try to use the textures of paper mario, they look very cartoony :D Those actual textures you are using aren't so good.

Not too keen on it myself, but if you like it then continue doing it.

Maybe using different filters along with this one you could get a better stylized effect. sort of like Photoshop's watercolor. :)

I've taken some suggestions from people to see if I can get these to be any better. I am in no way a graphics artist so I won't be offended if you don't like them.

In fact it's just using a filter on the original textures, and put them in the game again. Not really difficult at all. I think it's better (and less illegal ;)) to redraw the textures yourself with some kinda program, and remember that if you are a bit lazy, you can also make photo's to create a photo-realistic version of mario ;).

Looking a little more cartoony, but to be honest you can't really make Mario 64 much more cartoony without cel shading, which'll be hard to implement of course, i recon so anyway.

Yeah.. adding photoshop filters to textures and calling them new isn't.. cool at all.
