Alright, I'm playing WWF No Mercy. For some reason, I can't get the game to save--at all. I can use savestates, and those work fine...However...

When switching from the SmackDown Mall (where you edit the wrestlers, etc.) and the main menu, I think the game reloads a bunch of data--and this is where it erases everything I did. It's really annoying. What should my save settings be set to?
