Djipi, that is some cool stuff. You've gotta be the fastest (and probably the best) retexturer around. Amon_Knives, I like what I see. Keep it up. I'm dying to try this stuff out. If only KMan and Federelli would pitch in, we'd have this thing finished in no time.

I gotta say I'm with the_Jesta, but only if you're ready, since it is your work. I don't see why we don't just release version 0.21 or something! We're still on 0.20 on the first post.

Djipi,
I would just like to say that your work is REALLY good. As a professional artist myself, and a self-proclaimed perfectionist, it is tough for me to be impressed. Your work is truly stellar and some of the best re-texturing I have seen. Sure your cell-mod was excellent, but in a more realistic styling, your skills really shine. Keep up the good work my friend. I am blown away.

February 14th, 2006, 05:39
Great work Djipi, as always. I'm much slower at making textures than you (damn job...). Oh well, gotta earn money. Can't wait to see more of the forest temple. Hopefully, I can squeeze in a huge progess update by Wensday night.

Thanks all!!!! but to response of the question , we can't release a 0.21 pack because this pack is federelli and Kman pack!!
And by the way , credit to kman for the texture he make , for one or two texture i use it for keeping the style!!

but to response of the question , we can't release a 0.21 pack because this pack is federelli and Kman pack!!
Wait, KMan is out, I thought. He said he wasn't going to help us anymore, didn't he? When I private messaged him about a month ago, he said he had offered to help us, but nobody said they wanted his help. So he left. I don't remember that happening at all, but that's what he told me. I wish I had saved the message.
So if he's gone, it's up to Federelli. Could you, Djipi, make an unofficial release, or does Federelli have to look over them all first to make sure they're up to his standards? I'm really wondering what we're waiting for. It's not like we need to finish the entire game before we release 0.21. And I'd say we're way past 20% finished by now.

If a new pack is going to be put together I would hope it would contain the works of KMan, Djipi, Amon, The Jester, the menu, HUD, logo, and alphabet work (mdtauk?), and legendofzelda's item work. This needs to be a collaboration.

All right, KMan's back. Great work on the trees, and great work on the shield, Kerber. I promised to release a big update today, but things have gotten in the way. Right now I'm working on the whole Ganon fight textures, and I tell you, making those stained glass windows is hard, especially coming up with a good design for them, because I don't just want a bunch of colors. If anyone has any suggestions, they're welcome.

I think it looks good, but if you don't like it i can redo it.
@ Djipi: Well, the whole pack has to be released by Fed, but you could, release a pack of the textures you made, right?
Yeah, right now Federelli is in charge of releasing official packs, but he never even posts in here or comments on anyone's work and lets us know if it's good enough to be in the pack or anything. He shows no interest in this project whatsoever, so what's going on with him right now? Did he quit, is he tied up with other things, or what? I just want to know what's going on, because if he's not in the project anymore, someone else needs to be in charge of releasing packs.
More enemy WIP.
Most of your stuff looks good, but those wolfo eyes look very strange to me. They just don't go well with everything else.

Those are great, Kerber2k. I'm really glad to see someone working on the enemies (I like the shield too). This isn't criticism by any means (it's more of curiosity) but I was wondering if on the Stalfos it was possible to give the bones a rougher, cracked look (see below). If some of the bone isn't textured (just colored) then it's probably not possible, but I thought maybe a bit of an 'aged' feel might make them look more menacing. Like I said, probably not possible, but if it is, it's a thought. In any case great work!

Not possiable for Stalfos, and for that matter most bad guys to change their appearance that dramatically. It uses little 64X64 pixel skins in certain spots for detail...that is not nearly enough rooom to do what you expect.

Hi KMan! I'm a recent "hi res" convert and this is an extremely exciting time where lots of talented people are working on amazing stuff. Kudos to you, Djipi, Federelli, AmonKnives and the rest who are working hard. Keep up the good work and DON'T stop releasing! :)
As for your recent textures, I love them but I do have a few comments on the Kokiri Forest release. Between your textures and the one released earlier in the thread, I'm going to have to stick with the first release. Two reasons:
1) The first pack is more thorough and therefore more consistant.
2) And the textures appear a bit white/pale where they meet the with the ground (?), not to mention they are perhaps a bit too brown for my tastes and repetitive (that's just a fact).
Now, I'm not saying your work is bad. I think your releases are spectacular and you should keep it up. I just hope you can use this information to make even better stuff in the future!
Kerber2k
February 18th, 2006, 07:40
Personally K-Man, and ive always felt this way...but your stuff has always been simply amazing keep it up. I know its hard to find time with personal life\work, but your making alot of Zelda fans happy (esp now that Zelda: TP wont be released untill Nov.) February 18th, 2006, 15:15
You'll need to get 1.0 for it to work properly. Since there are slight differences, the register values for a large portion of the textures would be different. And I think all of us are using 1.0 to dump our textures to work off of.

Kman, you never cease to amaze me. It's about time someone made that texture(and made it look good too, cause i've seen some crappy one's). I'm so glad you're back, because imo you are the best re-texturer on emutalk.

Actually, that might be kinda good for me though, because since i don't have a gamecube i was gonna have to buy one in april but now i can just buy a revolution instead and save some money from not having to buy both. You need to fuse the two, for two reasons:
1) The work already done is ridiculously good, and shouldn't have to be challenged.
2) Redoing parts just to have a certain author behind it is a wastie of time, and this is the sort of project where anything that takes longer for an unneccesary reason hurts the project twice as hard.

Djipi, between this and the Majora's Mask stuff, you are all shades of awesome. Thanks for your hard work and releasing it too. Hopefully this will keep up and we can get the next version of this pack out!

Kman, when you feel ready just upload the textures and i'll update the pack.
The reason other textures won't included are:
1) I haven't seen a single texture file(AKA Djipi, unless i've missed some posts)
2) They aren't good enough
(i'm browsing through Djipi's textures as we speak, about time he posted them)
Federelli
February 24th, 2006, 20:53
Djipi, exactly which are your textures in that pack?

Djipi, I'm liking the new stuff. Finally, we get a real update.
Federelli, can't wait for your textures in the next pack since it's been a while since you posted some of your great work.
By the way, has anyone noticed we don't have a remade accented e? Everytime Dampe' is spelled, the last e' is all fuzzy. Somebody ought to redo that before the next release.
Let's keep up the pace.

I found all of these. Which ones are the right ones? By the way, they're named ZELDA MASTER QUEST but should be named THE LEGEND OF ZELDA.
Edit: I'm also uploading the textures to fix the lifebar's border. I'm uploading all three types, but why are there n_a, n_all, and n_rgb distinctions (where n is some integer)? Also, can someone fix the ammo numbers for slingshots and stuff? I'd upload those too if I knew what those postfixes meant.

Here's my textures for KMa's pack...I still have the textures in it from the shooting gallery that another member made, but I forgot his name, but I think it's good enough for the pack. If you're out there guy, please claim credit, cause the shooting gallery textures aren't mine.

I was editing my textures today so i can post my final versions here, but i'm having some trouble with something. Fed wanted me to try and remove some of the white bordering the magic arrows, and i'm trying to, but i keep screwing it up and it ends up looking like crap in-game, and now i'm starting to get frustrated:ranting:. So can someone with better photo editing skills than me try and do that? Please. C'mon, it's the last thing on my to do list before i can post my stuff. If you do it, i'll give you a big hug. Not really. Well, maybe if you play your cards right. I know you want to do it now. Ok, Here's the textures that need to be edited.

I have a queston, I downloaded the .20 package about a years ago and I was woundering if there was anything new. I know the sites bandwidth is only about 20mb's so you couldnt fit much else in the back but there are other places to host the file like fileplanet. I was just curious if there will be an update.
Let me add the pack right now looks awsome and I cant wait until all the textures are remade lol.

Depends on what you want, if you are looking for a Cel-shaded version, then Djipi's the one you want. Otherwise, this is one of the best alternatives for playing OoT with new textures.

other opinion between djipi's mod and this?what's the point? they're both awesome, we shouldn't compare apples to oranges... Djipi's available mod is the best mod to cell shaded graphics in Ocarina of Time... and this one is the best realistical mod, that goes along with Ocarina of Time was originally, but now... with high resolution textures.

Sounds strange, cause there is a feeling of "competition" here...
djipi work is actually amazing, and the kman and federini textures look nice too, so... maybe every "team" member should try to to the best for the community ?
I suggest that the one who makes the most part of this fantastic project update the pack. If there is no chalenge between you, perhaps it's the time to show it...
Good luck! i'm very very very impressive by the work done!
p.s: c'est vraiment du tréés bon boulot djipi, que cela soient pour les textures réalistes ou l'autre mod en cell. je suis fan, je dois l'avouer! continues comme ça!

I just started making a simple movie of OoT, using an actual N64 and a video capture device, but there are some issues editing because of the music. Here is my dream, and if anyone can tell me how I can do this it would be totally awesome: I want Ocarina of Time ... with no onscreen icons, no music, and a way to record/capture it. Bonuses: if this was all in high-res that would be twice as awesome, and if I could edit the in-game text, yeah, wow! Is there a way I can edit the game (graphics/text/sound)?

o_o nvm I see what happened. Well, Federelli, that sounds like Martin"s doing; he may have changed something about the site and forgot about how it might have effected your hi-res project.
Do you still have it on disk? You can try using a different website to upload it. I recommend FileSend - Free File Hosting and Delivery (http://www.filesend.net), but you can also use MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service (http://www.megaupload.com) if you prefer. Both will host your uploaded file for 30 days since the last time the file was downloaded, so if people keep downloading it, your file will never expire.

The only one that contributed actual textures was Kman, and he already has a pack set up, i haven't seen it personally, but i have no doubt that it's very good. Then the other one that contributed a lot with was Mdtauk, and then again, he already has lots of packs out there, also great.
As said on previous posts, anyone can post images/textures here, and if i feel they are worth putting into the pack, then i will. What i don't have time to do is go ingame and dump textures, and then work on the replacement.

http://mattst88.com/?page=torrents
I'm seeding, so once you finish the downloads, it'd be great if you'd seed yourself some.
What other texture packs should I make torrents for?
Someone send me a copy of the pack and I'll make a torrent of this one.

What's the point? I'm sure the bandwidth is too consuming to have to make it a torrent.

What's the point?
What do you mean what's the point? A torrent is a stable way of transferring the texture packs, especially when all the download links are dead. Good luck finding a working download link for Federelli's pack.
(If you do find a link, pass it along to me though, so that I may make a torrent and therefore share the texture pack with others)

If anyone has a link or a torrent to it I would appreciate it a lot. I found one but I think it is old. BTW anyone know how to fix Link's appearance on the equipment subscreen?? He looks all choppy and has green over his face. In the old high res pack I have and in Djipis final celda mod. Thanks.

Why are there still so many requests for this pack if KMan's pack is available? I always thought KMan's pack included all of this pack and more.

Yes. The pack that I had started stemmed off from Fed's when there was more discussion back/forth between how the logo should look, and not about getting any of the textures for the characters and environments made.
I went through, took out anything that wasn't up to a high standard, and then started to add new content. But, since it seems more people are interested in copy/paste jobs, or simple cell shaded looks, I have removed the download for it.

Yeah, I've read these forums a lot before I started posting here. I think criticism of a lot of the packs that are being praised right now is justified. Loads of them just pick grass and rock textures from sites and stick them in texture packs for games. On the other hand, those people put in a lot of time creating those packs too, they do it for free and do not harm anybody (as long as they don't blatantly rip), so how citical can you really be? Now, I have to say this... but why are you so bitter? I've seen you comment about people being more interested in copy & paste stuff instead of high quality original work. Not everyone on here is a graphic designer and can appreciate what looks good and what doesn't. Most of us do know your pack is leaps and bounds above most other packs around here, and I think you have gotten loads of praise for your work while you were working on it, and rightly so. So why do you care that other packs are getting praise (deserved or not) and why is that a motivation for you to stop working on your pack? It's not that people aren't interested in your pack, or that they don't care about quality work. That is just nonsense. It's just that not everone knows how much time and talent is required for different packs that are released.
Also, from your comment about 'simple cell shaded looks' I kind of get the idea you mean Djipi's pack, which I think is a shame. That is, in my opinion, a high quality pack that deserves praise. Both for finishing and for bringing in something new.
I'll just speak for myself, that I think it is a huge shame that you're not working on a Jabo release anymore. I've considered that texture pack the 'definitive one' and I always kind of expected that it would finish. I'm not going to beg you to continue, it's your decision. Just don't let that decision be based off of what others say or think. I for one would greatly appreciate if you did continue the texture pack.

I cant run the pack. The first time i run the settings menu in PJ64 it comes up with the error "unable to read ini file from disk" and then makes a blank ini file. When i try to go to the textures tab and try to "enable the "Load hi-res textures if available" it says in the middle of window " Advanced Options are not allowed to be changed.

^ go to configure gfx plugin, and under the general tab, unlclick hide advanced options. Click ok, and then go back the the configure gfx plugin menu, and it should be there. I had the same problem when I first installed.
And now for my question(sry in advance to the locals, I'm sure this is the 1 millionth reqest for help, but I couldn't find anything in search after an hour of looking-hope I havn't broken any rules here.)
Anyway, I have Federelli's gfx package installed with Rice's 6.11b10, and I'm running an amd 2200 with an fx5500, 1G ram untill I can get my rig back up. My problem is, when I go to load Zelda-oot([u]V1.0), I get one error that states "error to start video" and once ok is pressed, I receive another, saying " runtime error. 'project64' requested runtime to terminate in an unusual way. contact support team bla bla" Is this because of the rom version, or something else? Any help is apreciated. Thanks in advance(and sry for the newbness)

RyanFlemington:
try these 2 plugins:
GlideHQ Update 2 (released today!)
http://emuxhaven.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6490
To install and test GlideHQ:
1. If you used previous version of GlideHQ, remove all its files and texture caches.
2. Download GideHQ distributive (GlideHQ_bin.zip ) and unpack it I somewhere.
3. Run included gltest.exe ((c) mudlord) to learn about capabilities of your video card.
3. Copy contents of Plugin folder into Plugin folder of your N64 emulator.
4. For OpenGL, copy glide3x.dll from Wrapper folder into your emulator's folder. This is important, because older version of the wrapper do not support texture compression.
5. Run your emulator, select 'Glide64 Wonder Plus HQ' as your video plugin
6. In Glide64 configuration dialog, open "Texture enhancement" tab and select options you like. If you are not sure, which option to use, press presets buttons below. Presets do not affect your choices for texture filtering and enhancement, so pick them manually, according to your preference. If you want to use hires textures (I'm sure you want), select "Rice format" as format.
7. Run your game and enjoy.
or updated RICE (by mudlord):

Dear Xenobond,
I rarely take part in forums due to lack of time. Believe it, that's an important part. But I couldn't let this one slide. I've been a hearty fan of zelda since I played the very first of the series when I was a kid, and the reason why I haven't completed the OOT yet, is your pack.
I don't know why you say people are more interested "in copy/paste jobs, or simple cell shaded looks". Maybe it is so, shame. Maybe only some people who write in the forum do so. I don't know. But maybe there are a lot lot lot of people keeping an eye on your awesome work, yet filling the temporary gaps with whatever high-res alternative they can find, like I did myself. So I used your pack and other individual images I found elsewhere for the things that I frequently used and annoyed me because of the low-res high-res contrast. But while doing so, I was checking the forum for a new release so I could improve the graphics quality, and stop using 'my replacements'.
Can't remember last time I checked this forum before today, but I downloaded your latest pack and enjoyed it 'till being dressed in red. Had to stop playing (for about a year?) until yesterday. Came back to the forum, thinking of new amazing skies, level bosses ... and I was very sorry to see your message.
I've seen very unfair messages regarding your pack. I'm just here to say: only one person wrote each of those. They do not represent the majority.
Anyway, dear Xenobond, your time is yours and you've been plenty generous already. Thank you for your work this far.
Alvaro_Z, just another Link.

I understand what you say. Pity but, frequently, a random high-res texture about some rocks or some grass simply loose the original look, the Zelda touch. They don't harm you say? Well they don't harm while the user downloading the texture pack is aware of the textures not keeping the original look. Surprise, there are no warnings.
And being Xenobond, Kman, a magnificent texturer I can understand him blaming on others doing work he considers unworthy. While he is good, he should have the right to do so. I do the same in my area!

Aaah...just played a bit of Zelda with this pack...always the same: I start and think "Oh my, this looks so awesome! Makes me wanna play the game through again"...but then I think "naaa, but unfinished stuff sucks...I can't play with this as long as it's not 100%"... :(
I truely can't believe no one's working on this anymore...this is one of the greatest projects in one of the most exciting aspects of emulation (i.e. hi-rez texturing)...(of course, I'd do it...but I suck at painting 'n stuff ^^ )

I distinctly remember Kokiri Forest having a major overhaul last time I installed the pack, but since I reformatted my computer and had to re-download the pack, a lot seems to be missing.
