I've been playing Zelda OOT, and the unhandled opcode problem came up a few times. After searching through the forums and changing the memory to "change memory and cache" or "protect memory" or any other option, the crash still happens. I'm currently using PJ64 1.5 and the glN64 0.41 plugin.
I've heard that save states affect this, so I tried playing the game using the in game save system, but the error still occurs at random places.
Any thoughts?
EDIT: I've checked the rom using Good N64, its v 1.2 and [!] validated.

Maybe you would want to check the PC stability if the ROM is good.

When you changed the self-modifying code, you did change it for the rom, not the global setting, right?

Switching the core to interpreter may help if you know where the crash is going to occur. This isn't practical if the crashes are truly random though (which I suspect they aren't). I trust you're not using cheats, right? Beyond that, I can only suggest grabbing the 1.0 or 1.1 version of the game.

version 1.0 was the first one i tried, same thing happened. so im guessing its not a version problem then.
i am using cheats...could that be the problem for all this?

Perhaps. Cheats can cause all sorts of problems.
