I removed the box on the top right and replaced it with a regular 468x60 banner, and added an ad below the first post of each thread. It's an experiment, I'll change it back if performance is lower than before, which is unlikely since the click through ratio was horrible. :P

I liked the ads better on top, when I had them enabled for viewing :P Does it take just a clickthrough or actually have to sign up for stuff? Btw, I can't upload a screenshot for some reason, oh well:

The google ads pay per click, not per action, so yes only clicking in needed for us to get a share. But of course I'm not going to ask anyone to click the links just to increase our revenue, as that's neither allowed, nor fair to the advertisers. We (my company) is advertising with Google and I'd hate to learn that our spent money is going down the drain that way. So only click if the ad interests you. :)

This ad placement might work for now, until people get used to it.. people learn the position of ads and are able to ignore them much more easily over time, like they don't even exist, I read about it in a mag... I am inclined to agree ;)

Well yeah, that's the reason for moving the ads in the first place. ;)
