ok, now, this is going to far from PD mapping :P. A guy from our GE mod sent me a small map he did on ut2004 with a corkscrew (for vehicles) , I tested it and told him that with more stuff/textured and so it would be WAY better, I started, and didn't stop to get imagination :) look the result for right now:

well, I'm out of PD again! (damnit :P)

Here's an Idea I got today, a GTA Based City on UT2k4! I'm using most of the GTA3/GTA:VC textures, to bring the "feeling" of GTA in.

The Pay 'n Spray is one of the thing that I really took from the original game (that's the one in GTA:VC :P)

That'd be sweet. Since the map in VC is so big, perhaps, if you're going to be playing with it, you could just devide it (the city) into sections for different maps? Don't know anything about mapping, just seeing what's up, and anctiously awaiting the mario 64 map. :D

Just read the GTA3 > UT2K4 map died an I hope this doesn't happen to yours Knux, not that it should as you're building a brand new map from scratch and not converting an entire city. Besides this one should play better as it was designed for the game it's gonig to be played on :P

You know what'd be a good idea though, if we could have a progress report on all your maps (mentioned on this forum) and project (PD not Project Goldeneye) or would that be too much to ask?

Of course there will be "beta" releases of parts of the city, so no one will be waiting forever for the map to be done so they can play ;)

Hey knuckles I send you an email but I just decided to post on the forum instead. Could I use your textures or could you make me a set to use for the complex map I am making for counter-strike??

I tried playing the complex map on unreal 2k3 but it didn't work for some reason. Anyway... I'll post some pics once i get further done in the map (only have pillar room and a few others next to it.

the Complex only works with UT2k4 , and I won't share textures, if you want them, there are video plugins for that .

-added more roads (again)
-added a parking lot need the U building

This is a bit related to the mod, Using some gameshark codes on PJ64 and Perfect dark, I found a beta version of the Deep Sea music (sounds really great!) It starts the same way but at 27 seconds, you can notice a little change then after it goes on differently. I recorded it from the emu, so there is some little bug at 2 places (not bad ones ;) ). I will give you a link to download it so for you old Perfect Dark players, it will be like a new original PD music fresh from the game but never heard :) (5MB+ MP3)

I will prolly put it in a map of course ;)

Could you, by any chance, provide that gameshark code? I can probably re-record it using the real hardware and I'm just looking for loop information so I know where the song loops, unless at the end of the MP3 is where it cuts off/ends?

I continued my city map today (damn me, I'm suppposed to work on smth else)

Since I started it back to align everything on the grid, I got bored and I added 1 more thing to the map. What you see that isn't there anymore (that was on olders shots) will be back later, everything I've done will be re-done with some fixes.

Many thanks. By the way, did you find that on a site or did you find it by accident? I looked for PD gameshark codes, but all I found were a lot of the common codes. Nothing like music modifiers and the like ::wants to know if there are any other hidden songs within Perfect Dark::

new shots from the city , I finally had redone it fully at the exception of 1 building. I will now be able to concentrate on filling the empty spots on the map. I did a new little building that is the place where I "work" (in the game) :P. There is a tank in the garage but the door opens only with an hidden trigger ;)

EDIT:
For anyone that has GTA3 or GTA:VC + UT2k4, If you want to make a building for the map, just tell me, I'll send you a map(image) of available lots with their size. The building needs to be in low details, no complex meshes nor a lot of them, a building with ~25 meshes it just fine (not in static mesh please).

Double update,

1st : the City
*Building aren't at their final locations and you might notice that I added a terrain (not final)*
Top : VC based street, next to water (no water yet)
middle : 1st new building, with a *little* hole in the middle
bottom : twin towers , connected in the middle , road under

changed streets textures and added better lines

The spot on the far right of the map will be a mutli-stories carpark, with an exit on both streets (lower one where are the traffic lights and higher one where is the broken overpass ;))

Well I do not want to be too negative but considering the time he is on that project now we are going to be in graves before it is ever released. The goldeneye project will be released way before this and anyways I doubt I will continu playing unreal tournament 2k4 at these times. (maybe ONLY to play the good mods like goldeneye) because there are far better games out there. (Half life 2 will be released soon and doom 3 is a good FPS i think)

Knuckles put a lot of effort into the maps I'd say, so it's not necessarily a drag-and-drop conversion.

stuff like that can be easily done but the results aren't that great, I start all maps for scratch, using no other models them my eyes (most of the time). If it would have been that easy , I'm almost sure most maps would be already released and not only 3 of them.

The maps aren't a "dump" of the N64, it's more like a remake, even if it almost looks identical. Some of them took me time to try to recreate. Just like for the Area 52 where I just ran in a bug that I don't seem to be able to get ride of right now so far.

For those who are wondering, I've been working back on the GE facility to fix some bugs and to finish it for the mod beta release deadline. I will prolly update the PD Felicity at the same time as this bug it fixed (since I used the GE one to do the PD one, I have the same problems in both.

Don't worry, the Felicity will still be the next map to be released.
