- Mario Sunshine for the GC will be ready this summer. :)
- Mr. Myamoto, the legendary developer from e.g. the Mario games, is working on 5 more titles and Mario Sunshine. :) :)
- Metroid Prime wil be finished this year as well. :)
- The Cube won't go online in 2002. :(
- Nintendo is considering to experiment in the future with the Cube against other systems and especially against the PC. For instance you could play your GC games against PC users.About e.g. working together with direct opponents Sony and M$ he
(Mr. Myamoto) didn't give a clear answer. (Emulation might not even be necesarry anymore for the GC :) )

Gamecube will be online in a few months. Phantasy Star Online V2 will be the first online game.

Mario Sunshine looks like a next-gen Mario64, so it's good. And Nintendo may go back to the realistic graphics for Zelda(poll on their site).

I suggest you guys read this article

http://www.msnbc.com/news/697375.asp?0na=x229M3m2-&cp1=1

it covers the issue surrounding all three quite well, the interesting point is nothing decent comes out till much later on in the year for both X-Box and the GameCube, Interesting comments are made about the GameCube and the GBA which is the card Nintendo has yet to play

the article considers that the X-Box is a surprise success, which I disagree with considering it launched in it's home market, the test for X-Box comes overseas though,

it also highlights an interesting quote from Peter Main from Nintendo

"Even though their launch was incredibly soft up through October, Mr. Yamauchi [Nintendo Company, Limited (NCL) chairman Hiroshi Yamauchi] made a call to us in October and said that he was going to bet that the release of the games Super Smash Bros. Melee and Pikmin would resuscitate what had been a very, very soft launch. And that, in fact, took place. Between launch in September and early November, they had shipped just about 400,000 units and the sell-through was about 280,000. It exploded in November.”

oh and this too ;)

“You mean that contentious look? What Miyamoto [Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo’s top game designer] ends up with will truly reflect all of the words he has heard, but the sentiments that he holds true to make sure that Zelda continues to titillate all the fans that it has attracted over the years,”

Nintendo has 56k and ethernet add-ons to go on sale some time soon. Phantasy Star Online first, then others to follow. I've heard Nintendo has quite a few secret games with online capability in development.

56k = pain in the arse for online games, especially FPS games. Gimme cable for my PSX! ;)
