Pokemon Stadium Problem

Hey, I downloaded the Pokemon Stadium n64 rom , and it says u need 2 plug in the n64 controller does anyone kno how to get past it, i've tried like all the keys won't get me past it.

This game uses the D-Pad, so configure the D-Pad in your Input plugin.

Go into Options>Configure Controller Plugin...

Then check the "Controller is plugged in" box.
