Hi, I'm wondering which game do you think will be the second game fully playable, 'till now I only know that there's one one game fully playable so which could be the second one?

isnt naruto fully playable?? i dont know... i think that animal forest or maybe luigi's mansion will be fully playable....

animal forest !?
Anyway, there is more than 1 game that is fully playable. They just run slow and with gfx errors!

I think the collections like the sonic one or the mega man will run very good in near future, because they have the oldest and cheapest gfxs, so it could be that these games could be playable in a high framerate.

Yeah that's true but remember that those games use an emulator within gamecube, do you remember namco museum for N64, well those kind of games are hard to emulate because use an extrange code to emulate those old stufs (correct me if I'm wrong)
Well I'm just trying to know which one will be the next game (or games) that will be fully playable, I remember those days where Nemu was the first N64 to play at least Mario 64 (one award winning game) so that's the reason of this thread to figure out which award winning game will be the first one to be fully playable

I doubt it, it's like emulating an emulator!!

No, it's running an emulator inside a emulator, or, that's probably what you said. :P
I doubt the dev. team will put work into developing a Genesis, Game Gear, and whatever else emulator to build into Dolphin. It'd be one hell of a cool feature, but it would take careful studing of the system and whatnot.

For games that I have that can be fully playable (without looking at the speed) are:
-Sonic Adventure 2 in Interpreter is fully playable but reallly slow.
-Bust a move too ,as said previously
-Nintendo Puzzle Collection is also playable
-MKDD is slow, there is no more wireframe problems but is playable.
-Crazy Taxi is already playable
-Mario Sunshine is playable with now the videos but still slow

i went into this thread also curious and seeing what other people would think about what first game would be playable ... besides the puzzle ones ... and i read nothing but people talking about how they don't care about this thread ... it's ironic how they wish to post their comments then ... weird.
i was hoping my post would make those people take a look at themselves and stop that nonsense ... this is a good thread

I posted something just like you did, only I applauded myself as if i was very proud of my post and felt that i had dome something good ... see how that is ironic and funny? This thread is kind of pointless, you cannot say which games will be playable with the next release.
-Shadow-
September 16th, 2004, 13:27
But you can still guess which one will be the next one playable . I think those games who aren't very complex will be the next ones which are emulated good at the next release .
I think Metroid Prime will take long until its playable , it's very complex ! First person shooters had a big performance drain on the n64 emus ( Goldeneye , PD , Q2 sometimes ) , so i think the FPS's on the gamecube will have the same behavior !

Give Metroid Prime another 2 years to be a little playable. By that i mean running at a few fps with crashes.

Although it isn't really an fps game. The creators and I call it fpa (first person adventure) which is more accurate. But I agree with you here... metroid prime is complex and will take time to emulate.

Mind you, Why would people want to know what will be playable on Dolphin next, so they can go out to the shop and buy it to come here and complain that it still isn't fully working? I don't think so.

so far, playing on the PC is just for the pleasure of seeing the console emulated a little, see the gamecube quality games on your PC, see how hard and great worked ector, FiRES and schibo ;)
If I really want to play, I just go to a friend and play any games I want (he almost have them all)

Anyhow, as you were saying Knuckles, it is truly great to see the hard work put in by the authors and the rest of the team. It was really something of UltraHLE proportions to see Dolphin even be able to run SSBM etc. :)

It doesn't really matter which game will be second; in fact i am thinking that when the next version is released, many games will have progressed all at once and you won't be able to tell which game '2nd' is.

Actually you can there is a great speed diffrence in 3d and 2d with dolphin :)

I would like to add this too:
I love to play on my PC because I don't have to buy those extras (Memory Cards) so I can play my game and listen to the music all at the same computer, also you have the option to "Save State" the game (At least in MAME in where you can continue from the point you were before), to Load faster your games (Using Daemon Tools), playing at Highter Resolutions (N64 Emus), playing at higher Frame Rates so there's a lot of features that you cannot see in consoles so that's my reason why I preffer an emu over a console.

What do you mean the nintendo 64 had 4mb? Do you mean the size of the memory cards for it?
If you do, the GC has memory cards available up to 128mb, check this out:

no, i mean the nintendo 64 had 4 mb of system ram ... that's how emulators take save-states. it's just the dump of the system ram saved and reloaded. that's why nintendo saves are 4mb. GC will be between 24 and 40mb because the GC has 16 plus 24mb in it for a total of 40.

Ah I see, here's the specs:
Main RAM: 24Mb
Graphic RAM: 16Mb
I don't know if the save state would use a dump of both the main and gfx memory. I'm guessing it would only be the main memory....

I say they should get Super Mario Sunshine up and running, just like th n64 emus doing Mario 64 first. Or, they should get SSMB: Melee running due to it's popularity. Maybe: Star Fox Adventures (I hope cause I dont havs SSMB or SMS)
But, Pikmin 1 is kinda old, so maybe that??? (I love pikmin, but I don't have a GC)

Yeah I remember those days in where Nemu ran Mario 64 (back in 1998-1999) So in those days that was a miracle even when Nemu only ran mostly Mario 64 but at least you could play Mario in your PC, I'm waiting for an GameCube Emu that can play Mario Sunshine, Pikmin or Metroid probably I'm asking too much but as many PC gamers we don't wanna buy a console just to play 3 or 4 games, at least not us the poor ones

About the GC savestates:
I noticed the majority of N64 emulators compress the savestates, so maybe Dolphin (if it ever has savestates) can compress them as well so they won't be as large...?
Anyway, no one can really tell which game will be fully playable in the next version... (Pokemon Colleseum doesn't work in the beta, but works in the Teaser right?)

That may be true, but in my humble opinion it's really scab to sit around waiting for the developers of an emulator to work hard, and produce a coding masterpiece, only to have people that don't even appreciate the emulated system complain that it doesn't work for them. I need a beer. :)
