Well, it seems as though it's a hoax. CSNation is reporting that Gabe's forum account was hacked. However hl2fallout.com is down currently and Valve hasn't commented on it. So it's not quite for sure either way except what CSNation has to say about it.

Hopefully they'll sort this out soon.

yeah i read, but i dont see how.
I mean, all the other posts that gabe posted on hl2fallout was true, and on THIS post, saying that its going gold, is to be recognized as false? I'll only believe this on Monday if it isnt announced gold, but then again, they could delay it.

ah, i just read on gamespot, gabes password was gaben and sum1 logged on and posted it, then he entered a post saying,
"Maybe he shouldn't have used 'gaben' for his password. Come on Gabe, you could of thought of something better than that"
Oh well, it did make sense, as the half life 2 preloading was starting.

Exactly :D Because teh steam content servers are gameboys with gamedows 89 and an 56k broadband connection xD
Nah , the pre-load only consists of some sound and texture files , which won't be changed until the release , so they need 10 years for teh rest to code :D :D :D

I knew it was too good to be true, and this Pre-load lark just makes it easier to pirate their game if you ask me ;)

No-one knows if it will be released in November. And it can't be THAT specific of a release date. Once we hear it from Doug or Gabe then we'll know for sure.

Well as of right now many of the online video/computer game shops are saying November 1st.

Plus, Steam just started uploading a second part of Half-Life 2 via steam. So I'm guessing it's quite close to release. Even if it's as far away as november 1st, that's only 4 days away from my birthday, so I'm happy. :)

Well , on the quake con the Joerg Langer from the "PC games Hardware" magazine asked an guy from ID soft if DN-F can be forgotten . The answer was : "We're making good advance with the doom3 engine"
Maybe they just interrupted the development on the UT engine , because they wanted to make a better game with the Doom 3 engine !
Ah , it's said that DN-F comes out winter 2666 :P

They changed engines again, jeez. Before we know it they will be using the Half-Life 10 engine in like 500 years. :P
