HI@all,
first about my hardware:
Windows XP SP 2 [GER]
ATI Radeon 7500 (3D Prophet)
Athlon XP 1800+
512 DDR-MB-RAM
DirectX 9.0b (patched,sp2 update)
Newest emu version (0.99)

The following error ocoured during directx initialising:

"Can not initialize DX8, check your Direct settings".
and after that screen:
"Error to start video"...

Before my update to service pack 2 all games runs perfektly.
Any sugestions?

Try reinstalling 1964.

DirectX 9.0b (patched,sp2 update)


SP2 automatically installs DirectX 9.0c - but this shouldn't be a problem. I had to reinstall some software post-update for it to work - so as the above poster says, give that a go first (including your Graphics card drivers, and may as well give a fresh DirectX 9.0c install too).
