game controller icon in control panel gone?

i cant find the game controller icon. it like disappeared. the controllers work fine but if i wanted to caliberate a controller i cant . this seems strange but is there a way to get the icon in the control panel back?

Strange.

This isn't a solution, but temporarily you can access it by:

Start -> Run -> "joy.cpl"

That should bring it up.

nothing shows up....ive also tried clicking the directx icon in control panel and then clicked the tab for direct input and then clicked gaming options. nothing showed up for that either. anoyone else got suggestions?

i went to start and clicked search and typed joy.cpl and it worked and now i can go and caliberate my controllers. thanks for the help gorxon.

minkster: here's a question, do you have tweakui installed? Becuase tweakui can enable and disable control panel applets, basically, it can prevent them from showing up in the control panel

i dont think so.... i have stylexp installed but that only changes skins not the control panel
