(Please read all of this long post....thank you)
Yo, I until recently used a lame-ass 56k modem for everything that I did online. Well, as you could imagine, it was near-impossible to enjoy online gaming, but now I have a better temporary solution which is a 256k DSL connection. Yes, it's still really outdated, but you can get some pretty good ping time with a modem of this speed...........or so I thought. You see? I've always wanted to play sega, n64, nes, arcade, etc games online, but Kaillera doesn't want me to have fun. On Zsnes, which doesn't use Kaillera, I can enjoy all of my snes games with the lowest latency setting possible (which proves that my connection can handle netplay). BUT, on Kaillera, my ping averages around a WHOPPING 180ms!!! And THIS is no matter what server I connect to! It's just too awful, so I tried downloading the application which allows you to make your own Kaillera server, and even in local connections, everyone else's pings were around my Kaillera ping number. Now, if I can play Rune, Quake 3, Nhl 2001, Zsnes, and many other online things without the slightest problem, why is THIS so friggin' difficult? Please help me out, thanks.
