Using the keyboard

Maybe im just an idiot....but for the life of me i cannot get Jnes to reconize my keyboard. It gives me only the options for the joystick/zapper or none. I don't see anything in recent posts or the read first thing about this...so anyone know how i could remedy this problem>?

Thats what i have it set on....it doesent take any commands from the keyboard. The default keys are set up as well. Not sure why it's doing this, I tried downloading the first release of Jnes as well.
