i need a gamepad that works with project64. any suggestions?

Whatever you want, though a genuine N64 pad with an adapter is the preferred choice.

Get the adaptoid, Gamecube adapter or and Xbox controller adapter. With all of these you get rumble so its just a choice from there on.

Saitek P2500 is only $30 and has rumble. It's modeled after a Dual Shock PS/PS2 pad except instead of R2 and L2 it has two extra buttons on the front like an N64 pad. You can also get a wireless version for a little bit more (P3000).
