the guy was reffering to the rumors that the chankast authors said they are working on trying to get the emu to run well on a 600mhz cpu http://www.ngemu.com/forums/images/smilies/Standard/rolleyes.gif

I donīt think 0.3 will work with 700 mhz, this is the target, so it will be in the LAST version I think.

It runs on my computer right now (chankast v0.02a alpha) and it's under the minimum requirements.
My Specs: 1000 Mhz Pentium 3 Moble
512 Megs of Ram
160 GB Hard Drive (40 and 120)
32 Mg GeoForce 2 (Nvidia)
However, I only get about 1/2 to 1/3 game speed on chankast...
I think it may be able to be built to run at lower power computers.

Nobody NEVER said that THE NEXT version (0.3 or whatever is called) would run on a 600MHz. It was said that maybe in a future, but not in the next version. And remember that is just a rumour.
I don't doubt of the chankast team programming skills, but 600/700Mhz is a too low value to emulate a 128bit console, in my opinion.

Well 600MHz is the minimum requirement for 1964, probably 1GHz to run most games fine. The Dreamcast has a 200MHz 128-Bit CPU, probably 2-4 times faster than the N64s main CPU. Chankast already uses SSE heavily to get the speed it does so realistically your looking at 2GHz+ for most games to run well fullspeed, with a few simpler games needing less. I doubt a 600MHz processor could run any games at fullspeed, probably not even the Bios.

well, it was the devs who said they were aiming for 600-700mhz, so there should be some possibility to reach that

I wouldn't be surprised to see people dissapointed if the next version doesn't work on 600mhz. People are asking the world of this next version.
It will be good, but don't complain if it isn't what you expected. Just be happy you have such a great emulator.

Relax guys - i think what most of you misunderstanding the situation - here it is:

And in my opinion it?s not that important to make chanka run on a 600mhz pc, with nowdays 3,2GHZ processors and increasing in speed!!!! pc?s with 2ghz and above aren?t that expensive !!!! I think we are asking too much
I?ve never said Garrofi told me that. Unai, told us (around 40 people) that he wants in the future (no near future) make the emulator to run in 600/700 Mhz processors... but this is only a idea !!!!!!!!!
Please, don?t disturb Garrofi with these things...

it's perfectly possible... but requires a lot of work and donations :)
