I have personally selected what I thought was the top 7 logos from the contest. Please vote for your favorite logo.

Falcon4ever voted for his own logo without noticing it wasn't allowed, so I have deduced one vote from this logo. He let me know of the mistake, so I think it was an honest mistake.

I like Hexidecimal's because the simplistic 2 color approach. The light blue matches nicely with any window color, mainly black and white. Keep in mind, the best logo doesn't mean the most technical one, just the one that looks best as a logo, like the current logo on the top left of the message board. Emutalk's board colors always consists of two colors tones. I think the blue and white will work nicely with the default, and I like the Vegas lights spelling of EMUTALK.


[d.o.u.g]'s is runner-up for those same reasons (two colors) and CY:G's least, though he seems to be doing fine in the polls.

Just a side note: I tried the Dark Skin and the current logo really shines on dark. I say keep the dark one. Um...I played around with inverting the colors to get the Dark Skin feel, and i'd say [d.o.u.g]'s looks completely awesome inverted. Can you guys post the Dark Skin logo pics PLEASE!!!?

Definately [d.o.u.g]'s, CY:G's and Hexademical's logos are the best for me. They suit to the structure of the boards and they are very nice. Redah's logo is the better than all the others but it's too big. Afterburn's logo is also very nice but it's purple. Falcon4ever's and HippyShoes' logos are also good but I don't like them as much as the others... It's a hard decision but I vote [d.o.u.g]'s logo.

Well, first of all, there were over 30 logos, couldn't have all of them in the poll. Secondly, I only selected logos I would agree on replacing the current EmuTalk logo with.

There were other nice logos, but they didn't fit on EmuTalk IMO.

I can understand that, no problem. I really liked Dr@mer's logos though.

CY:G's for me. I also liked Redah's and [d.o.u.g]'s, but game gfx won out over [d.o.u.g]'s abstract background and not only did I feel that Redah's was too big, but two of the four characters he used are Playstation icons and I there just isn't dedicated discussion to Playstation emulators here. N64, Dreamcast and Gamecube, yes, but no Playstation/PS2.

CY:G: is oneof the best logos,because it have a lot of content,contains many plataforms (like emutalk,were we discuss about a lot of emulated plataforms),nice design,and Mario....only fill space :D

Yeah #3 Doug is my favorite, it's the most professional looking (not professional as in well done but professional in design). I also like it because there are no game characters in it or anything else for that matter. If you add any characters or controllers, systems, or anything else like that you really end up generalizing too much. Emutalk is pretty open, it may be about emulation but it's definitely not all about playing games as there are a large number of people mainly interested in the technology. If it was a forum called "Cartalk" putting a Ferrari in the logo wouldn't be very appropriate.

#6 - CY:G's is very good and would be my second choice but I feel #3 fits the board better. The white inside the text makes it a little hard too read.

The problems I had with the other logo's were small issues.

#1 - Hexadecimal's doesn't really have any bad points I can pick out but I can't see it fitting in as a logo for here.

#2 - Redah's was good but difficult to read, the size was large but it's easy enough to shrink it.

#4 - Falcon4ever's would have been better without the system logo's and without the catch phrase. Possibly with the parenthesis moved around a bit.

#5 - Hippyshoes's needed slightly better composition. The spacing between "Emu" and "Talk" should have been slightly larger and both words moved up to fill the space better.

#7 - Afterburns' was purple as other people have said and also it features a gamecube which is too specific for the forums.

Don't take the constructive criticism the wrong way, the logo's are all good. If I had the time and knew about the contest sooner I probably would have made and entry as well.

If only Logo #2 was smaller I would have voted for #2, and my third choice would have been Logo #6 but I eventually voted for Logo #3. It's simple, straight and yet perfectly fitting the forums.

went for Redah's logo, i like the fact its got all the old characers on there, the others seem either a bit simple or a bit too obvious ;p

altho it would be even better if redah puts some colour to it at some point :)
