I have the following problem with the glN64 0.4.1 graphics plugin with both 1964 and Project64: the "Refresh rate" tab is completely empty! Apparently because of this trying to switch to fullscreen with glN64 causes the emulator to freeze. Also for some reason the "Windowed resolution" tab is empty by default, but at least there I can choose a valid resolution. My graphics card is Geforce 2 MX with the latest drivers.

I had this problem a couple of times before. It can be fixed by deleting the reg key for glN64():

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\N64 Emulation\DLL\glN64

This will reset the key to default. Also, drivers could cause the problem too, so fully uninstall your current drivers and freshly install them again and see if that fixes it (remembering to delete the glN64() reg key after you install just to be sure)

Any idea where I could find that registry key in Windows 98SE?

I had no idea the registry was different with Win9x... Go to Edit > Find, and type glN64. It should find the key in your registry.
