i just wanted to know how and why these emulators came to be. i want to know if they're legal to use or anthing else that maybe i should be aware of. this is just out of curiosity. thanks............

the emulators are just pieces of software, wich are perfectly normal and open source... what's illegal is to play the games on your computer without having the actual games on the console... that's why you get kicked in the nuts if you ask for roms...
