Issue using Controler with N-rage

I have a logitech wingman control pad that I currently use with Jabo's Direct input7 1.5
I have no issues using the pad there, except I cant use a rumble pak.
I have the most recent verion of n-rage (1.82a) and would like to use that instead, but when I try to set up the controller, it does not take any input from the pad. (meanwhile i can have the logitech diagnostic program running, telling me the computer is recieving a good signal)
I have tried this, and have the same problem in both project 64 and 1964.

Any suggestions to get this workiing?

my computer:
1.7 GHz
256 MB RAM
32MB Nvidia

Thanks a bunch, I didn't have the pad selected like you showed me. Works great now, and so does the rumble
