Hi there, I have a few questions regarding the different file formats used by the Gamecube...

1. What is the difference between GCM and ISO? I suppose it's not just the filename.

2. Are DOLs of commercial games (NOT homebrew) supported by Dolphion yet?

3. What is the difference between ELF and DOL?

4. And what the hell do I need BIN for?

It's just that I am very comfused about all this different formats and don't know what is what.

The difference between GCM and ISO is only the filename. We chose to only make dolphin see GCM files because we think it's good to have a standard extension, for various reasons.

You can't just boot a single dol from a game, it won't find its files. Boot the GCM, the dol will be loaded from it automatically.

ELF is an executable format that may contain symbols.

BIN was used for some early homebrew and some of our early experiments.
