If you did not know, yeti3D is a open source 3D engine for many different platforms, and the gamecube is the newest version. Can't wait to see it working faster(not sure how fast it runs normally, actually.)

Don't want to make an impression that game is playable. I placed only the best shots.
It's very slow. Cell-shading (toon rendering) doesn't work/look good.
When characters appear on the screen everything around him becomes black. Obviously this is some kind of unsupported mask which was transparent on the shots we saw before the release. I didn't have patience right now to wait till playable state since it's very slow on P4 2.4ghz.

Hello Lynx, how do you get the Mario Party 4 intro to be in color?
Some people see this intro only in black and white.
AFAIK this is Radeon VS GeForce problem.
ector
January 28th, 2004, 12:41
The intro is in color if your graphics card have enough pixel shader support, since it uses the "TEV" (gamecube "shaders") to combine YUV to RGB, and without shaders only the Y channel (brightness) is visible.
Lynx
January 28th, 2004, 12:51
As I suspected, ector. I had the same YUV2RGB problem with my Panasonic TV so I'm going to build VGA 2 RGB (SCART) connector ;)

January 28th, 2004, 14:24
Viewtifull Joe PAL is a tricky part. I spent weeks playing it and never got past first real boss in the end of ep1 on non-kid mode.
It's emulation is as tricky as great gameplay. I worship Capcom, they did a great job (actually company where i worked before was going to do that game 2 years ago - i spent weeks playing ghouls'n'ghosts and explaining the culture behind it to artists).
So, what's with emulation? There's a semi-transparent polygon filling entire screen. Since we have many transparency glitches this polygon is ALL WHITE and we don't see anything underneath it. Using trick for overlaying text on screen and then disabling it we are able to see ingame stuff but it's not possible to capture it with high framerate I get here.
Enjoy wireframe.

There is no trick. My screenshots shows how u get that far. When it turns grey, just wait like 1minute, and it'll start moving again. Keep waiting until a thing comes in, aka No Mem Card, then push A (gamewise of course), and you'll know what to do. It stops at the Nintendo Game Des!gner logo. Which a texture dumpped nicely. :D

Hi everyone, i've got some question.
I've just got the Resident Evil 2 & 3 ISO's ripped by Starcube, and reading the .nfo file I see this:
(3)>> Release Notes: <<)

Only STARCUBE brings you the bootable games and only
STARCUBE brings you those games with the garbage data
wiped. We know you don't like downloading 200MB-1GB of
useless data, which by the way, the game will work fine
without! QUALITY NOT QUANTITY!

What's that mean, that those ISO's could be burned on a miniDVDr and played on an unmodded gamecube??
Thank's for all.

If you turn on the texture extracter, you get this light effect thing, which is weird, and a third texture with nothing in it.

Tested Pokemon Colosseum JAP. Goes as far as the intro video, then stops and loops at 20fps. Here are the stats.
CPU = Interperator (Dynarec crashes at Nintendo logo)
GPU = Compiler
The rest at default.
Here's the pic of where it crashes. If someone could make a ppf patch to delete the vids, or tell me where they are in the .gcm, that'd be grand. Then I could test the game even further.

why not? it preserves the quality, and isn't that large compared to the bitmap format, jpeg spoils the quality of images
Knuckles
February 5th, 2004, 16:50
it depend of what program you use. On Paint, PNG are, yeah, good quality and low size. JPG are low quality and ultra low size. But if u use photoshop, it can be really good quality and low size but still, you need to get/buy photoshop :P

Yes, it would but try to buy the 128-Bit or Ultra version of this card because the extra money is worth it! The 64-Bit version has half the bandwidth of the 128-Bit version (3.2GB/s compared to 6.4GB/s). 3.2GB/s is not exactly that much more than you have now, but 6.4GB/s is a bigger step up. If you can stretch your budget to an FX 5600 (less than £90 ~ 135 Euros) you will see a significant performance increase at a fairly cheap price. [Cheap since this model was 'replaced' by the 5700 Ultra to compete with the Ati 9600 Pro/XT cards]

Nothing special, I do the thing to get in game (language) and I get in normally, it is supposed to look better on DX9 video cards (for the HUD & Menus) because I'm only using a GF4 MX440, I'm using all default settings in the emu and only 4xS Anti-Aliasing in the Forceware settings.

wait, WHAT!? Your saying my computer could overheat thanks to this emulator? That's a serious issue, are you sure? Or am I misunderstanding you... :whistling
Anyway, regarding Sonic Adventure DX, I just got that game for my PC and it works considerably better. :P

Your computer can overheat doing ANYTHING. The emu probably uses near 100% of the CPU cycles, so it's deffinatly going to generate heat! If your computers temps are jumping like that, and your afraid of overheating your proc, you need to get a better cooling system.

I have a cpu moniter on at all times and all of my emu's take up 100% cpu cycles. My computer often overheats with VisualBoyAdvance.

Both the windows computer and linux computers in my house have AMD processors..... and both DO get to 100%, but overheating is mainly a matter of how good your CPU fan is. And when I built my linux computer I used the crappy fan that came with the processor. Big mistake. I've never had anything damaged, or crashed by overheating though... but whenever It goes past 70 C. I turn it off. I just dusted the CPU fan, and I think a big part of the problem was that the fan was getting slowed down with dust. I haven't had much of a problem since.
-Also the win. computer takes up alot more memory, It's got 512 and yet it keeps expanding the amount of virtual ram! >:(
