VOB Files Strange Problem

OK... the problem is that I'm able to play DVDs normally with PowerDVD... but when I try to open a VOB file individually, it doesn't play... I tried copying them to the HD but it doesn't play too... When I try sometime even the PC get lock up and reboot... Due to this I'm unable to rip DVDs to DivX... what coudl it be the problem guys?

i am not sure but i think this falls under requesting illegal material since you need things that can or may infringe on copyrights in order to do what you are trying to do, try going to a place like doom9.org, and if this does fall under that part of the rules this isn't the place for it
