more than 9 lives in banjo kazooie?

this might not be a PJ64 problem per se... but has anyone been able to get more than 9 lives in this game? the maximum number that the emulator is showing is 9 even though I clearly have more (I have to kill myself 3-4 times to get the counter to go down to 8)

i have a verified good dump, Banjo-Kazooie (U) [!], and i'm using glN64 0.41 (which looks absolutely amazing with its hardware framebuffer by the way) with PJ 1.5.1.

haha... if you say so. seems kinda silly though. Rare couldn't fit in the extra digit?
