Kick ass news :D I don't have much skill but I'm going to take a look at it this weekend and see if I can understand anything :D

You say it's fantastic... but you both fail to realize it likely means no furthur updates by me.

Kind of understood that but I have to say that as Martin said you have given a lot to N64 emulation and will definitely hold a big part of it when I think back to it in a couple of years. Everythings got to end sometime and even if this is a double egged situation I'm very pleased with what you have accomplished during the years, audio in a class of it's own and a unique and personal touch with Apollo... :D

yup you were one of n64 elite coders :)

I wish you good :luck: hacking the cube

/beats bjz with shoe

It's too bad that azimer is going to stop doing n64 emulation stuff, apollo was a promising emu and his sound plugins were second to none. However, I salute azimer for open-sourcing his emu/sound plugin. Maybe his excellent sound plugin can be ported to linux! :) His Rsp plugin has already been ported and it works well. And maybe now hacktarux can study the apollo Dyna-Rec code, if that would help him with mupen64.
Farewell azimer!

Thats sounds sad azimer, i hope for you that you are happy with that what you have achieved( you should know for your self that it is a bunch of work!!)
And good wishes for your future :)

Azimer Great work!,
Would you allow me to port this src to a console? (as i am already about 50% there). Or would you mind if i continued to add some features to it?
It's time for you to move on from the n64 emu scene i guess :P

just a request: could someone compile it and post it ?
thanks a lot

olivieryuyu

impossible to compile with dev C++ and visual c++

i even asked somebody else to do it but he didn't succeed

PS: have i the right to compile it ?

As long as you use it for your own personal use and don't distribute it, I suppose so. So I'm not sure if someone besides Azimer is allowed to post it on this forum...

Go ahead and post a binary. I don't mind.

ok i post it here. Work but have 11 warnings during compiling ...

well Azimer i must say that this apollo version is quite good. Sound in Top gear Overdrive doesn't block emu as all the rest of the emulator. Just a small question: why did you want to do a dynarec ? i say that because you're interpreter is very good, the fastest i've seen. With a 1Ghz dynarec doesn't seems to be required and can cause bugs.

Anyway thanks for this great emulator.

Very nice,
thank you olivieryuyu for compiling and thanks to Azimer for allowing to distribute it.

I added the emulator together with some good plugins to the database at my site.

Nice work :)

Though the interpreter is impressive, it would never have been able to run CPU intensive games. :( For this reason, I was trying to go with a dynarec, even a very basic one.

Well i beg your pardon but i can't see the games your 're talking about.

i tested nearly all the games with Apollo beta 0.1 and glide64 with interpreter and it works with nearly all the games ... Some games are still not booting but well it's the always same games that cause troubles with all emulators (Taz Express, Nightmare creatures ...). Of course there is some TLB miss and few Exception Trapped Expansion Pak Detection and access violation ...

But it's very good, congratulations and good luck in whatever you're doing. N64 emulation scene 'll miss you a lot. :)

It's odd that Azimer released this emulator in January and now five months later in June it's starting to get wide recognition. ;) The other day there were about 30 something people here in the Apollo forum. Emulation sites are just now starting to mention it, all because olivieryuyu compiled it :). Azimer, maybe you should release an official binary. :)

If someone would continue it... then it would have many binary releases. ;)
or someone begs me and tempts me with lots of presents. lol

well it 'll be so cool if you could continue it a bit ... I don't know how to tempt you but well i think that you did a great work and it's really a pity to abandon your baby ... Doing dynarec is not the most important i think. May be you could try to do what you had forecast :
- speed limiter (that's the most important ...)
- and of course as you are the expert about n64 audio stuff all that is turning aroud sound (the challenge that nobody have succeeded is Twisted Edge Extreme Snowboarding ....)

Thanks even if you don't want to continue

Azimer

Twisted Edge has major issues beyond audio. :(

argh !!!! so this game won't be never fully playable. Well the word "challenge" is a good term for this game. Hope that Apollo 'll be continue because the interpreter is in my opinion the best. Including an internal audio code should be extremely cool too. Hope so.

Thanks a lot !!
