Using 1964, or Project64, or Nemu, does it matter which one?

Does it not matter which one I use? Isn't the only thing that matters are the plugins that I use?

Someone please explain, i am confused...

The emulator you use affects the speed and compatibility.

-PJ64 has the highest compatibility with N64 games at the moment but is the slowest. It is the most stable and doesn't take up too much resources. Fully zilmar-spec so any plugin works.

-1964 is almost as compatible as PJ64 (all the games you are likely to play work) and is faster than PJ64 but takes up more resources and is less stable. zilmar-Spec [apart from it not being able to use Jabo's audio]

-Nemu64 is the least compatible but is by some way the fastest of the three, but also takes almost all of your resources (causes problems on good comps) and is the least stable. Nemu64 isn't fully zilmar-spec. Use this on slow comps or if you are interested in dumping graphics from games or Netplay.

-The GPU plugins determine the quality of the graphics and also the speed to an extent, SPU the quality of audio and controller plugins just affect controls.
