I'm testing PD with Glide64. It runs smooth (of course :P). I heard, however, about some problems which are not resolved by most of released plugins. I have no time for throughout testing. If you had played this game and know about it's gfx errors, and have a save where problems are easy visible, please give me the save and a simple description of the problem. Thanks.

Remember that the problems he wants to hear is those that are there in other plugins such as jabo's or rice's ;)
In other words, Gonetz wish to fix the "errors" in the game that's currently unemulated (or something...)! :teehee:

the ini doesn't contain a PD entry 'nor the drop down menu for the ucode selection. the PD support, is this is included in the public release?

Doomulation

I know one have reported unknown ucode...but wouldn't it work if gonetz posted this public? Given the right ucode you should be able to play it, I suppose. Or?

Not. And will not be included without throughout testing. You may help me speedup this process.

I would like to help you with testing Glide at my old system, but then I have to use eVoodoo (I don't think that matters much because 90% of the glide64 users are using eVoodoo).

Doomulation
October 16th, 2003, 10:57
Oh that's right...you needn't use Glide64 to test...
Hehehe...I was wrong. But it will be supported in the next release!

Any plugin (excepting Icepir8's OGL) doesn't display the camspy in a right way, and the framebuffer-effects in the menu aren't displayed in a right way too.

Gonetz

Yes, I just need your saves for internal testing. One game I can test myself :) Thus again, if you had a problem while playing PD with any plugin supporting it, please give me a save where this problem is clearly visible.

Here's another one, The combat Simulator Grid textures. Some of them are messed up, look:

what it looks like with glN64 / TR64 OGL/D3D / Jabo D3D

http://alpha.emulation64.com/PD/grid.jpg

and what it's supposed to be:

http://alpha.emulation64.com/PD/grid2.jpg

Rice Daedelus 5.1.0 gets it correctly but with messed up colors BUT, for me, in D3D with any settings it freeze after some sec ,OpenGL is ok, but I got some really weirds bugs!! look at this video, I couldn't resist (for one time, I though about dialup user ;) ):

For High speed broadband internet users: (4.8MB, 640x480):

For Dial-up, 56K users (or less :P) (244KB , 160x120)

It's very helpful, but as I said, I haven't time to play this game. Could you give me saves from all these places to check?

Knuckles, thank you very very much!
So far, pause blur, radar and messages work ok.
Motion blur and sky does not work.
I'm downloading your saves to check the rest

To be sure at 100%, I took my sister's N64 and pluged it on my TV and put my good old great PD catridge on it and started to look around for other stuffs. I'm really happy to be that helpful to you :) good luck!

EDIT: One more motion blur effect remembered while playing, it should works like the others as soon as it will be emulated. In the Chicago mission intro, when you see cars flying in the sky, there is some little motion blur present. here's the save right at the intro start:

Ok, everything but grid textures, sky and lights effects seems to be working. Camspy, night vision and motion blur work very slow due to heavy frame beffer use (or fast and incorrect). alien_crosshair.zip is corrupted, can't check it. Sky is very hard problem, I suppose it is drawn by commands with unknown format, that is nobody knows how these commands work.

There is this one other motion blur effect that you get when you go into a room with radiation in (for example on the 2nd level where the camspy should be used). Picture taken with Orkins GLN64, on an Athlon 900mhz with GF3.

Gonetz, try re-download the save, It is fine here. I downloaded it...

EDIT: btw, the sky emulated in Jabo 1.1, is fixed in position depending of the player looking location. the real sky is supposed to be like a moving texture on a fixed sheet in the sky.

Good luck, I can't wait to test this Glide64 version :) keep working like this and you'll be the god of N64 video plugins!

As I thought. Jabo did not solved the sky problem, he did a hack instead. I can do it too, but I will not, it's better to have no sky.

New version will not be ready soon, even for testing. I'm trying to do some hard things, it's very time consuming, but if I will succeed...

great thing that you are working hard on it! again, about the sky, it's bad not to have the sky emulated ( not even in any other plugins) but if you can't find a way to emulates it, it's not that bad. but you would have made one thing for sure that no one did before ;). Still, the plugin with beat all the others in PD. about the motion blur, I saw that on GLN64, it's running really fast, same for camspy.night vision and stuffs on some other plugins. Another stuff, the same camspy effect appear with the second fonction of the slayer, when you are in the rocket guiding it.

could you see about fixing a problem/s with combat simulator, im not sure how to put this. when you add sims and change there characters and start it locks-up. team highlights are not visible unless they fade in & out other than that no go, not sure if it's a lens thing or bug. good luck ;)
