Hi, I'm new here and new to Linux.
I'm running RedHat 9.0 and when I try to run mupen64 with any game and any plugin, it's really really slow like a maximum of 6 fps.
I have the windoze version too and the speed is fine there so I'm wondering what's wrong.
Any help is appreciated.

Do u have installed accelerated drivers for your video card ? If the answer is no, go to nvidia.com and follow their instructions ;)

you can checkout if you have these drivers by running "glxinfo | grep vendor"

:P No, I don't have accelerated drivers, I'll get them now. Thanks.
I'll post back if getting them doesn't work.
I'm a real Linux n00b!

Hi!
When I run mupen without sound I get an 80fps. With sound it gets down to about 20fps. Does my soundcard suck or it the sound driver crappy?
I have Multimedia audio controller: nVidia Corporation nForce2 AC97 Audio Controler (MCP) (rev 161).
with modules:
i810_audio 22824 1
ac97_codec 13448 0 [i810_audio]
In mupen i use mupen64 audio plugins => approx 10fps to 23fps
A test with JttLs SDL plugin gives me => approx 10fps to 23fps
when I run Zelda majoras mask.
Hope anybody can aswer my questions.

In european version of majora's mask, fullspeed is 16.7 fps on the real machine (and 20 for the US version).
How does it sound ? Do u have tried the alsa plugin ?
