Project 64 accesses internet on startup?

It seems that when Project 64 starts up on my machine, it tries to connect to the internet and download this file:

http://207.46.243.152/pki/crl/products/WHQLPCA.crl

The server is owned by Microsoft, and the file appears to have something to do with WHQL driver signatures. Does anyone have any idea why Project64 does this? I usually just deny it access (using ZoneAlarm) and it seems to run fine without this file.

It may very well be that it isn't Project64 doing this, but some low-level driver on my system. However, I have not seen any other program do this.

Run Spybot Search and Destroy ( i think that's what it is called ) and see if your PJ64 files are infected with spyware. Then try a antivirus. Or just keep denying access.

I really don't think it's spyware. Spyware would not be interested in a WHQL certificate revocation list from Microsoft.

*sigh* OK, I ran the program and it didn't find anything. Of course, if there is spyware in PJ64, I doubt this program would find it anyway. The program can only find spyware that is in its database, and I doubt they'd add something like PJ64 to that database. They only filter common spyware. But, as I said, I don't think PJ64 has spyware in it... I just was curious as to what it was doing accessing the internet.

I think it's your video drivers being activated by PJ that causes it to check the microsoft site. I've seen this a lot lately.

It's Jabo D3D plugin, that connects to the internet ,when being initialized. In Pj64 it happens when emu loading,it goes to plugin directory and initializing all plugins. In 1964 it will happen when you chosing plugin and in Mupen64 when you start a rom or configuring plugin.
You can check it easily by just removing plugin from Pj64 plugins directory .

PJ64 does NOT access the internet on my machine, nor does Jabo's 1.5. I think it has to do with your drivers, as that's what it seems to be looking for, driver signatures.

I had the same type of problem before. :( Sygate Personal Firewall
tells me that Project64 wants to connect to crl.microsoft.com.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to kick you in the nuts on the account of your sheer stupidity.

It still surprises me that people still cant see the words "RULES OF FORUM - READ BEFORE POSTING" on the front page of the project 64 forum. Idiots....

I PROMISE you that PJ64 does NOT access the internet on my machine...and I use NIS just like Jimbot. I don't doubt it does on some, or maybe even most...I wonder if the reason can be discovered. At least it can be said for sure it's "safe," although that's impossible when you're dealing with Micro$oft.
